Right. I’m not into superheroes or Star Wars, but I can waste a day watching 80s regional pro wrestling on Peacock. I just love watching this dork get bent out of shape at the idea that some people move on and discover new things and outgrow the things they loved at age 12. The plea for his poor vocabulary was the icing on the cake.

I would put money on a significant portion of the manbabies over there being closet Bronies.

The geek and the bro "cultures" have repeatedly crossed paths. The defining event was most likely "Gamergate" in 2014, even before Trump had launched his political career. A bunch of gamers started to complain about lack of ethics in video game journalism because of alleged ties between a female indie game developer and a male reporter that had led to favorable coverage for her game. This was mostly an opportunity for those guys to assert themselves as the "real" gamers as opposed to the more diverse crowd studios were trying to appeal to (by making the games less sexist), claiming it was an offensive by leftists, social justice warriors and a bunch of other sissies. Of course, it resulted mostly in women, either developers or journalists, getting their real address and phone number shared on 4chan and receiving death threats.
It was the prototype for most right-wing actions that came after that, like the controversy about The Last Jedi in 2017, which triggered complaints that producer Kathleen Kennedy had a feminist agenda, or that reporters had been bribed to give it favorable reviews (personally, it's the only Star Wars movie outside of the original trilogy that I enjoy, the writer-director made Knives Out after that), and of course the stuff about the Ghostbusters reboot (it didn't help that the movie was lame, but, fuck it, it's not as if it taints the legacy of Ghostbusters 2). The tech reporter for Breitbart who covered Gamergate was Milo. That's how he got his start.
If you want to get a clue about the intersection about these two communities, just check on YouTube one of the hundreds "definitive" takedowns of The Last Jedi. They're always two-hour-long, and you have some dude who recorded himself talking in his basement in a monotone voice explaining that the film destroys every rule in the Star Wars universe, etc.

This if from another thread quite some time back. The shite thread it came from was them discussing how they decide on what they're going to listen to.

He forgot to mention the all-important final step, in which he correctly guesses how many matches have been spilled on the floor.

The guy who was so enraged at the music at his gym that he threatened to smash their audio system has some words for you.

The guy who was so enraged at the music at his gym that he threatened to smash their audio system has some words for you. He's very judgemental. @terrapin Station Hey- you don 't think you're judgemental with your continual 'music critics' and 'hipsters' whinge? (what timewarp are you in that you think 'music critic' is terminology that anyone outside of SHF has used in the past 30 years, anyway) . You clearly have such issues with 'music critics' that you are attempting to leverage some power in that area for yourself through your long, dull and generally un-insightful verbal diarrhoea poats in that Rolling Stone best albums thread. Pitchfork is leagues ahead of your dreck.

Rolling Stone, singular, as in the publication. Supposedly stands for boomers while hipsters are into Pitchfork.

Remember, he’s smarter than you. What doesn't make sense is any of it. It is incoherent. It doesn't make sense that the only way you'd viably compete is by getting bonus tracks that other countries don't have, because in plenty of cases you don't get those bonus tracks. He sets up the sentence with 'You' as the subject, (the company?), then presumably in his muddled head he forgets that as the 'you' in the second clause is now a different subject altogether -the consumer? Just one example sentence of his abysmal writing, yet he thinks he's on some higher plane than the rest of us.
