Could the Vics be kicking in? (Bizarre STeVE behavior)

There are times when STeVE starts a thread or reopens one where his self-serving motivations are totally obvious.
Yet there are other times when he'll poat something totally off the wall, start/reopen a thread that makes no sense whatsoever, or do something that might make sense only to a drug-addled mind.
It's this latter phenomenon that needs its own thread for discussion.
For the OP, let's go with this:
In 2008, some generic SHite started a thread about an old Beatles record he was given and decided to ask his fellow SHites if it was a good one (guess his ears weren't working well that day).
Sgt. Peppers: Did my bro give me a good one?
The record that stands out from the dozen he gave me, is The Beatles Sgt. Peppers. What's always so confusing for me is the fact that so many releases have multiple pressings and reissues/remasters in every country under the sun.
This Peppers has the Capitol rainbow label SMAS-2653 (SMAS-1-2653)and is a signed Wally on side one. What is so exceptional about this album is that it is Mint in both cover and vinyl. My brother told me that he listened to this once, and judging by the condition, I believe him. Unfortunately no inserts - at least, he has yet to locate them.
Am I correct in assuming that this is one of the first runs? (Is that the correct terminology?)
Another of the dozen is Hendrix's Axis in just as pristine condition.
Next week, he's giving me Tull's first four albums. Can't wait to play with the Stand Up album!
Some dude rains on his parade:
If you want to hear something really cool then check out a UK mono issue.
Don't waste your time with the US pressings. They all suck...except the mono "Magical Mystery Tour". You can do a search for more Beatles stuff...keep you awake for hours.
STeVE then accomplishes something truly remarkable: he chastises the naysayer, while agreeing with him at the same time!
I did the same to someone in another thread about his US Pepper, ruined his day. NONE of them sound any good though.....
At any rate, AVBUFF, enjoy your records; you have a cool brother!
A few other SHites soon chime in with their opinions/info about their own records and the thread quickly peters out.
Then, in Dec. 2008, the thread is bumped by someone eager to discuss his own pressing of that title.
After a few additional poats, the thread offs and dies until STeVE ressurects it with a simple "Reopened" earlier today. (I caught it by chance this morning and it has already started its fall back into oblivion.)
Besides the effects of a certain brain-altering chemical, what would cause Guff to bump an obscure thread like this after nine years? Senility perhaps?
This kind of bizarre Hoofy behavior happens quite often. Feel free to archive your own examples here.

My brother has once again gifted me with a few treasures (LPs, that is), and has promised me more in the very near future. Although I have a somewhat large selection of vinyl, I am still very much a novice from a collectors standpoint and must turn to you folks for some info. The record that stands out from the dozen he gave me, is The Beatles Sgt. Peppers. What's always so confusing for me is the fact that so many releases have multiple pressings and reissues/remasters in every country under the sun.

You have a US copy of Pepper. Sounds like an 80s pressing. Nothing special. If you want to hear something really cool then check out a UK mono issue.
