This is one of Our Host's favorite and most annoying ways to display his power. You can't talk about Rudee Vallee's cock but Steve can! He loves to post things that would get other people gorted.

The ongoing special project bullshit is another example, surely. Is that Scoot / Father Time in your avatar?

Yes that is FT. I also took my username from one of his classic hits.

Here for now...Incredible. Here the SHITE's are having a nice discussion about adding hearing test results to their equipment profiles (hopefully starting another 100+ page clusterf--k like the original "Please Fill Out Your Equipment Profile if you're going to comment on how something sounds" thread a few years ago) when STeVE jumps in with a comment so far out of left field it's practically in another country. The fog in his head must have been extra thick that day.

Man, even when a bunch of them say they think it makes as much sense as the "equipment profile," which is really just a way to brag about how much money you supposedly have, but Ham Sandwich has such great hearing that even when he can't hear his keys jingling when he pulls them out of his pocket, he can tell the difference between his different amplifiers. I bet he's got 20 grand tied up in cables and equipment, though. Pretty sure he can really hear the difference between a twenty dollar bill and a fifty dollar bill.

Boy...ol' William is getting his ass handed back to him in that thread As for the equipment profile itself, I thought I read on the old Stereo Central that Steve and the Gorts basically passed along the information in the equipment profiles for marketing/advertising purposes, which is why Steve is so adamant one everybody having them filled out...

Related question, didn't someone ask about the highlighted words that link to products that show up if you're not ad blocking and were essentially told "uhh...we don't know why it does that"?

I seem to remember one thread where Hoofer was saying some gort or other set it up to earn a few dollars.
Not sure I believe the lying twat but I can also easily imagine a gort thinking they could easy rip Hoofer off as he is a stupid fucker.

I have to continually point this out, but the "equipment profile" has always suspiciously seemed to be nothing more or less than a means of collecting marketing data to sell to STeVE's "advertisers" (who are not, says STeVE, "advertisers"). Hoffman doesn't give a damn what people list or how their atrocious SHite set ups actually sound — which is precisely why he doesn't give a fuck about "hearing acuity" info — just as long as he has reams of collected data to sell to the highest bidder. Someone ought to ask point blank if that is the true purpose of the equipment profile. And ask how much Hoffman makes off this information. I guarantee you that such a post will not last 10 seconds. I mentioned it the other day in the thread where someone had pointed out the numerous bots onsite. Post was gone within hours.

Yeah, that's what I thought regarding the equipment profiles. And, yeah, I have been tempted to poat many times, "Having yer equipment profile filled out is nothing but a marketing ploy...", but yer right, Cola, no point in poating something like that 'cos you know it'll get Gorted faster than you can say "advertising revenue"- 'cos you know goddamn well that Steve is in for a cut.

Johanna Martzy, there is a cult around her but why is her catalog SO MESSED UP?
JOHANNA MARTZY. Even reading her name can send certain classical music lovers into a frenzy (including me). What is the DEAL with her catalog? Her EMI albums from the 1950s are selling for $15,000.00 each in mint condition, reissues are even hard to come by, selling for $500 bucks the LP or CD. What gives? There is a Martzy cult among those who know, but do no record companies reissue her stuff? Why are there only like 4 photographs of her that keep being used over and over? I thought... she died young but that's not so. She was born in 1924 but died in 1979. True, not really old but she didn't record anything after 1959? Why? She wasn't popular, that's understood, but why? And why now is her stuff STILL so hard to find? She's legendary now but still a mystery. I have some LP's that were reissued around 1997 of some of her radio performances and now THOSE are selling for $300.00 each. Why isn't anything kept in print? It's frustrating and odd.. Anyone have a clue? Rant over. The preceding quote is the OP fron a new thread by STeVE, that as of this writing, has no replies. On the surface, it seems to be STeVE trying to get a discussion going about an obscure Hungarian violinist (yes, I needed to look her up on Wikipedia.). But, upon further thought it might be a lame attempt to show how cultured STeVE is because he's in-the-know about some sort of cult figure in the highbrow music scene. Her records? Yup, they're pricey and STeVE needs to let us all know that he has some. And, what's the DEAL with THE odd use OF caps? But, to answer STeVE's question. I do have a clue. Ms. Martzy's Wikipedia page is very short, contains no discography, and you pretty much need to type in her entire name before Wikipedia shows it in its list of possible targets. Maybe she's not the "legend" STeVE claims her to be.

Jesus. This is like me trying to sell some shitty J-Pop album for a crapload of money. Because you know, it's all "obscure" and shit.
Looks like multi-millionaire STeVE is having trouble paying the bills. Lol.

STeVe is also odd in the thread by 'protected member' Arsenaught who asks about a piece of classical music from a cartoon.

Martzy's EMI albums are selling for between $40–$90 on Discogs. Not quite $15,000 (yeah, sure). Sounds to me like Hoffman has some garage sale LPs he is trying to unload on some gullible SHites — and he probably will. The stuff doesn't get reissued because there isn't any interest in her dated playing style, it is as simple as that. Notice he doesn't even write "$15,000", but "$15,000.00" to get two more zeroes and make the records look even pricier.
