This guy’s a fucking bore. Imagine thinking Kid A is still ‘weird’ 21 years after its release.

This is a uniquely "hoffmanesque" strain of poat. Must be endemic to Rock Era Trust Funder Burnouts.

"Generals and Majors" was written by that Colin fellow.

There was a Kinks "diktionary" book published (not self-published) in French a couple of years ago. I checked on a particular song that the writer considers a subpar effort by Ray Davies, with one full paragraph about it possibly being an answer song to Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders because of the similarities in title with a 1971 song covered on Learning to Crawl.
It was about "Living on a Thing Line" (sic), a song definitely written by Dave Davies...

"Generals and Majors" was written by that Colin fellow. Didn’t even catch that. I was just laughing at his ignorance of who I consider to be up there with Lennon/McCartney and Davies as far as great British songwriters/masters of melody.
