I’m 63 and I just turned my 12 year old Granddaughter onto Lesley Gore
I heard “Maybe I Know” on the way to work last week and was just blown away on what a Perfect Fricking song it is.
So that laid a song worm in my brain all week long. So My Wife and I had the Grandkids over for the weekend and Christina Jr. loves music, she actually turned me onto Taylor Swift, and I still think the “Reputation” Blu Ray is one of THE greatest concerts I’ve ever seen.
So, we’re watching “Heartland” (eh?) and I ask her if I could put on a song that’s old and stuck in my head, and she says “sure”.
So I go to YouTube and find a remixed, re edited hd version of “Maybe I know” and show it to her.
Now remember, she’s 12 years old. By the chorus after the second verse she’s singing the song.
Guys, Steve, this is so cool that good music STILL has the power to move us, even a 12 year old listening to a song from 1964………..
Absolutely Made My Weekend.
Take care everyone, and for you members up here in the Pacific Northwest, try and stay cool as we get into triple digit heat here….
And my Prayers Have been going to all of you around the country that have been dealing with this insanity over the past month…………

That's cool. Financially she was a wreck in the end and I think her first royalty check from Mercury was around 1975......those Quincy Jones sessions and big % heists by the usual suspects kept it from coming. Was nice person to meet and TINY.
