I take pride in owning ridiculously expensive gear. The more cameras, the better I feel about myself. I am not able to properly operate any of these devices, I just like to caress the buttons. None of the photo's I take have any artistic value, they are in essence completely useless. That is because I am a useless boomer asshole who never did have to put any effort into anything at all. My dad did all the work, see? Now, tell me how great how I am. Once more.

I take pics on my piece of shit smartphone, and for the most part am happy with how they come out. I can't take anything after dark (especially with the bright white streetlights. The old orange ones were a bit more forgiving) and I can't zoom in, but for a built in feature on a bottom tier device, it is a fun little thing and sometimes I get nice pics to post for my 7 instagram followers.

He only wears it when he listens to his Longines Symphonette collection.

I noticed this thread on The Gear Page yesterday and thought of STEVE, who is a rock 'n' roll musician, a watch aficionado, and unquestionably uber-cool:

How shallow are you that posting wrist watch photos is your thing?

You can also notice that the two cameras are in perfect condition. They look as new. Or little used over the years.

Leica strikes me as the Bose of the photography world.

Notice the Voightlander lens. Nothing particularly bad about the lens, but if you are interested in image quality - especially with a Leica - skimp on the body not the lens. That Voightlander lens is probably about $400. The Leica equiv. is around $4000. At least this is my guess. I haven't looked in years because overpriced toys for dentists aren't my thing. The important thing for Guffman is that everyone sees that he owns a Leica. So, mission acomplished, I suppose. On a side note: the two Leica photographers that I know (who don't actually shoot with them anymore) don't have "minty" cameras. They used the fucking things. They were tools not status symbols or collectibles.
