My wife’s best friend is battling cancer right now. I thought she and her family had issues until I read this.

I had to figure out where the hell I heard Goodbye before.
Buried in some bootleg FLAC I listened to a handful of times and it's been sitting in my HDD ever since. I'm sure that's that's the same thing that will happen with this version too. Who flippin cares

I like the Abbey Road surround mix just fine. My educated opinion is that I will completely pass on any Let It Be project that may be forthcoming. What a sad, depressing bunch of horrible music. I'm sure after Mike Carrera rubs one out to the new Ringo abortion, he'll be back to be the official LIB Wal-Mart greeter. Also, what could maccawings possibly be on vacation from? I can hardly wait for 300 pages of Arnold Grove saying “whatever pleeeeezees you, I’ll do it”.

I looked up STeVE’s Fb page and the bitterness really shines through. The fact that STeVe doesn’t like it makes me enjoy it that much more. Bingo. The only reason I specifically scan threads about Beatles remasters/remixes is in hopes of catching Hooofman's inevitable bottomless pit of envy and frustration. I do have the original 1987 CeeDess and can't be arsed to "upgrade" to anything else, since the last time I listened to a Beatles album was decades ago. But secure in the knowledge that Steve Hoffman will never, ever get within 3000 miles of anything resembling a Beatles project - and knowing how badly he really wants it - the asshole's reaction to every new Beatles release gives me this huge and admittedly cheap thrill. Didn’t you once start a thread at the old Stereo Central (that featured a stock shot of a gleefully-sneering young child) expressing satisfaction that STeVE would never get close to the Beatles’ master tapes? That screed was a fun read!

Peopsons are talking about getting surround sound set ups just so they can listen to Abbey Road. Now I'm genuinely glad for anybody who likes the new remix, but buying a SHiTE level surround set up just for Beatle listening is just as nutty as the guys who spend all year waiting to buy the new remix then poat about how much they hate it.

Ron, let it go you prick :
Except we don't know if the tape box for Old Brown Shoe mentions Paul on drums. Certainly the (tape box photo) in Lewsiohn makes no such mention. Now, if they based their personnel choices based on the session tapes, maybe a bit of dialog or a false start would have been helpful. I still find it nearly impossible that Paul is playing drums on this one. Not that it's above his pay grade, just sounds like Ringo. Especially the intro fill and several others throughout. The tell-tale backwards fills that Ringo played and Paul doesn't. Now, who plays piano is a bit trickier. I've always thought it was George. With Paul as the default player. John? Never thought it possible then, or now. Ron
PS And to claim Paul played drums on the early version of Something (recorded at the same session as OBS) without including an excerpt or one of the two complete takes is questionable and throws a bit of suspicion on the blurb. brainwashed, Yesterday at 2:51 PM

I'm listening to Come Together on Youtube. Did anyone ever noticed out of tune guitar string notes EVERYWHERE and other crap guitar noises for duration of the song which was rightly masked on 1969 mix?
- 0:12 - 1:15 - 1:18 (out of tune) - 2-31 ( horrible!) - 3:01 (fake stereo guitar effects and drums)
And i'm listening from laptop speakers!
I can't imagine how it even slipped quality control. I would fire such mixer who would expose all faults from band playing instead of masking it
You must have great laptop speakers. I'm sitting here with headphones and I'm struggling to hear anything particularly horrible. There appears to be a shift of fingers along strings at 1:15, which does not offend me (and I think it was audible on the last issue too), and what sounds like some off-mike comment at 2:31 which is intriguing but hardly worthy of criticism. Perhaps these are Youtube artifacts.

The finger slide on the strings after the solo that they are all miraculously discovering has been there for 50 years!

I found Abbey Road ignorant, even at 12 years old.
