Looks like a just a few naysayers to my eyes. No one knows for sure. Rumors have been kept quiet. And as we all SHOULD know, no official announcement until the end of JULY at the earliest. Now we come to the first week of June and some start getting nervous? Not sure why. It really makes zero sense for Apple/Universal to stop the 50th Anniversary series. Abbey Road is probably their most popular catalog album through the last 20 years or so. The various vinyl configurations inevitably make it back on the Charts... not so for the others, except 1 of course. Ron
PS It also makes no sense to tie Abbey Road and Let It Be together into one massive 1969 set. The later has a wealth of possible material, both audio and video. A merging makes less sense than not releasing Abbey Road @50... and I already said that makes ZERO sense.

From Wogblog: The upcoming multi-media tour by historian/author Mark Lewisohn will include audio and video even "super fans" didn't know existed. Hype? Possibly, but Apple wouldn't allow Lewisohn to use unreleased audio and video, especially previously unknown/unreleased material, without their expressed consent if something wasn't happening. Ron

Most Beatle unused Beatle recordings and footage is out of copyright now and since he is not selling it but just showing it, he does not need a licence.
Surely not any 1969 footage or audio, which one would expect to hear and see on an Abbey Road (the album) retrospective. Ron
PS I don't think Mark would use out-of-copyright material either. Or would even embark on such shows without at least tacit approval by Apple and Universal. Just an opinion.
I guess we'll know sooner than later if it's marketing hyperbole, or if Mark has been given access to material that might show up on the upcoming box. What that could be is anyone's guess. Home demos? Rehearsals? The long-lost group version of Come And Get It;) Ron
WE DON'T KNOW!!! Like I said, it could be advertising hyperbole, or a clue on what's to come. I don't think interviews would constitute anything that "super fans" didn't know existed. Not to mention the article specifically mentioned audio and video. I don't think even "lost" interviews would amaze the fans. Might be fun, but that's about it. If Mark tries playing standard bootleg stuff, or things no longer in copyright, the attendees will call him out... right then and there. Not to mention, to keep things all tidy and legal, Universal/Apple would have to give their approval to present master tapes and video. Does anyone think Mark will "do his own thing" and play unreleased audio or video without approval? He has two more books in the pipeline. I can't imagine him going rogue now. Ron
"Bad boy... you've seen the project, yet can't say what it is. Maccawings seemed to indicate it's not a MAJOR set. Meaning anything from a vinyl=only set, to a possible compilation or singles set. But if it's not MAJOR and it's designated for the Christmas market what would prevent AR50 from being released? And IF it is delayed, what would happen to the Let It Be set and Jackson's movie due in mid-2020? Tell your sources not to muck things up will ya!! Heads will explode here:) Ron
PS Thanks so much for chiming in. I feel I'm lost now that my sources have moved on from good ol' no. 2"
What fucking "sources" Ron? The imaginary ones in your feeble brain? You twat.

Two have retired in the last year and the one that remains has gone quiet since last fall. Not sure why. I still have friends pretty close to the action, but secrecy is at an all-time high for some reason and getting unimpeachable news is harder than ever. I'm thrilled Mike and maccawings retain close close and trusted sources. They are both fantastic assets to our little group here. Ron

I know i’ve Unloaded a lot of excitement today. But we will have to go back to being patient! (I know that’s tough) . Most of what I receive soon will be unsharable. Will try to get things out when I can.

New exclusive: there will be one CD devoted to Yoko's recordings of her bed mic. It was that or she would veto the box set
<————still extremely excited about AR 50th!! Sorry, not teasing , just genuinely excited about my favorite Beatle album!
We are still a ways off from Fab’s official announcement but not for the B&M early warning system!

I have an idea.
Remember how Bowie’s Station to Station box contained the Station to Station remix, a flat transfer from the original master, and the “audiophile approved” early 80’s US RCA CD master? Well, maybe the Abbey Road box will contain the Black Triangle CD master?
I'm glad Apple was finally able to get Maccawings approval! I was so upset, waiting in limbo, fearing the worst. But now I can rest easy, knowing that soon there will be a new GILES MARTIN remix album to shout to the wind over and new outtakes to splooge on (the real reason why I love physical madia so much. Ever try splooging on a harddrive? It ain't the same!)
I look forward to Mike Carerraraaraera's confusing previews and hints about the exact contents.
For now, I think I'll celebrate with a triangular toshiba blackface jap flat pressing first generation dubbed transfer. My body is ready.
