“ "How dare you question my viewpoint!" (force lightning fires from my hands like the Emperor in Star Wars Episode 6.) "Now you pay for your lack of vision.." Putting all fun and joke aside... What [Giles Martin] did on 1+ was unforgivable! Sorry but a lot of people I know but were really angry. Some even got there money back! Nobody in the music business would ever mike the contents of the rear speakers, record the contents, pop them into the rear channels and then sell that to people as a supposedly 5.1 mix. It's criminal! It's the Elephant in the room that I can't ignore. And the only reason he didn't repeat this nonsense with The White 5.1 is because: A. He had more tracks to play with. B. The style of music was differnet C. The angry backlash from 5.1 fans. Let me ask you a question. If I held up a grocery store on Monday but not the rest of the week does that mean I was a nice guy that week. Or will you just forget that a pointed a gun at the clerk on Monday? In other words Giles 1+ 5.1 mixes are the grocery store holdup on Monday.” forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/abbey-road-50th-anniversary-discussion-what-can-we-expect.777492/page-218#post-21608154

Who IS this lump of waste material? He’s just shown up, and yet posts inane Beatardism like he’s been there for years.
On the recording date of I Me Mine:
“Songs yea, but not a whole album. (As in a 12 inch 33 1/3 RPM) Nevertheless 5 or 6 months later will not change the sound of a transistor mixing board or a new multi-track.
Question. Did you know that info by heart or did you check some Beatle book? Just curious. All my info is by heart.
This place isn't as bad as Gearlust. Here members will correct you on dates and stuff but if you say Paul's bass playing on Let It Be was lame Linda is not gonna come on and take you to task over it. However; at Gearlust a lot of big name engineers like Roy Tomas Baker (Engineer for Queen) and Bob from Motown might be online so be careful. It's happend to me a few times.
I had commented on The Stephens 2 inch 16 track. And then later John Stephen's brother came on Gearlust telling me how incorrect I was. I sort of misquoted John's brother on the machine. How was I to know his brother was logged in as a member? He was right. I still say the Stephens 2 inch 16 sounds better than a DSD multi-track. My point was that no tests had been done.
Another time I had mentioned that it was not fair to compare the 1973, ($43 000 USD) Stephens 2 inch 40 track to the Ampex ATR-124 ($63 000 USD in 1979. About the price of house in Toronto back then.) The Ampex was and is the greatest 2 inch 24 track ever made. Only about 90 sold. Anyway to my post came one of the designers of the Ampex ATR-124. Where are there people hiding?
Oh the multi-track in the Queen movie is a 3M You can tell by the transport. It's got no captsans or pinch wheels. The tape goes straight from the reels into the head block. Only two companies use that design. Stephens (At one point Stephens machines used 3M transports until 3M stopped selling it to them.) And of course 3M. It was those 3M transports that gave The Stephens Multitracks the superior edge in wow and flutter and signal to noise ratio. The 2 inch 40 track Stephens was actually quieter than the leading 2 inch 24 tracks of the day. (Well back in 1975 they were.)”

And every post he makes is 6 pages long. I’m amazed people care enough to read it all.

"Women are a distraction from my job." Yeah, right. What he doesn’t tell is that he sees growing that sweet sweet mullet as his job. No woman would put up with that shit.

St. Augustine chose to become celibate. This is... something else. (Not a job, though.)

Perpetual masturbation really isn't a job. It's more of a hobby.
