How Eco Friendly Have You Been - So Far?Having grown up in the political 70s in the UK I was made aware of the ins and outs of these matters at an age where I felt I could arrange my life to 'help' with the looming problems. So, in the last 40 years I have only bought from new, socks, underwear and shoes. With I think, 3 new items of clothing, ones I really wanted. At home the only new Item I have ever bought is my bed. Everything else has been second hand, especially CDs. I think I am doing well on having a low carbon footprint. You? I only take my smallest personal plane to attend climate change conferences

forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/streaming-why-is-it-so-unsatisfying.899855/page-18Kingsley Fats goes on and on about something regarding the potential for music getting pulled from streaming services. Juss100 DRM Juss100 DRM By the way, I followed the link. It takes you to a story posted by the equivalent of a right-wing morning zoo radio team, but there’s no attribution to where this story comes from. So I searched the name of the person quoted, because it was an unusual name. The site the person posts to is an amateur Russian website covering shipping news in Russia/Ukraine, and is the source for the exact same worded story appearing on 100 different climate denial websites.

Young person named Time Magazine Person of the Year ....Does it have to be one or the other? Is there any benefit to pitting them against each other? The point of that meme is the questionable motives of the newsmedia not the two individuals. Thank you Wally Swift. But, much the same as Boyan being ignored, so too will your sentiments and proof be ignored because they are not popular, nor is it envogue to be on his side. I'm not familiar with the Time magazine philosophy behind the choice of "person of the year". If it's just registering who's the most popular, emblematic and actively promoted by the media, then Greta's choice is correct, because her image and what she did and said popped up from everywhere, as her opinion is the most important thing and as if she's the ultimate authority. But if the "person of the year" is an honor, supposed to praise and celebrate someone really valuable and important, covering certain high criteria set by Time (similar to Nobel prize), then this choice only shows that the Time magazine policy is only following the fad, and it's not to be taken very seriously. She is the current face of the propaganda behind climate change. Not sure what else there is to say Shameless exploitation of a child with asperger's. "How dare you" indeed. I thought she was pretty good in "The Bad Seed".... Greta Thunberg, the Swedish high school dropout who told the United Nations,“How dare you,” should be making that speech in Beijing, not New York. China burns half the world’s coal. China produces 29% of the world’s CO2, a share that is rising. Their stated goal is to continue their growth in emissions through 2030. The absence of criticism of China implicitly accepts that they should be allowed room to increase emissions in order to raise living standards. Higher energy use is directly linked to better quality of life, better health outcomes, and increased longevity. By focusing their criticism in the developed countries where they comfortably live, and ignoring the world’s biggest source of GHGs, climate extremists are advocating lower living standards here to accommodate rising living standards in emerging Asia. OK, now that we all got the political angles covered, let’s stick to Greta and Time’s Person of the Year. Blatant political posts, on both sides, will go and the posters will be uninvited. Thanks! Part of the reason she is "respected", "popular", and "loved by young people all over the world" comes from how she is portrayed, presented, and talked about from a singluar side...Hence the propoganda angle many speak of. You believe in Greta 100%, with all your being, or you will be set upon by the hounds. Say something less that stellar concerning Greta, or how she is prepared by those behind her, regardless of the truth and proof, and you are almost stoned on the spot. That kind of reaction keeps people quiet about their real feelings, and results in a less genuine reception regardless of the trumpets blaring. Greta has some merit. Greta also comes wrapped in a dubious cloak of preparation, with a healthy dose of unseen ring master thrown in for good measure. This is plain to see, but currently it is also not considered proper to talk about. Partly because of her age, partly because of the subject matter, partly because of her protected class due to Aspergers. As Yoda might say: A tangled web of hope and caution is this Greta. If Greta stands for the proposition that folks with absolutely no experience in the disciplines of which they harange others about - nor have any life experiences in - then we are all in for some good times. Next up: politico mega mansion owners lecture you about energy use & conservation. Politico millionaires lecture you on what income you should be entitled to. What do you mean, “next up”? That’s where we’ve been for years. TIME's criteria to be Person of the Year is "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year". What's the argument for putting Thunberg above certain world leaders and prominent figures (including, off of the top of my head, three in the U.S.)? Well..... if you live in the rarified air of a Time Magazine editing office, she probably is. And at 5 pm, you'll need to leave to get a bite before that evenings neighborhood art walk. Thanks? Not sure what this is meant to tell us about Greta. That she is not always the most articulate person and may not have been fully engaged at a press conference? How terrible. Greta is just a particularly useful cipher in the socio-political movement thrusting global apocalypse - fear mongering - as a means to realign western economies with an eye towards bureaucratic control. Its social engineering on a mass scale, with the documented ability to effect millions of young (and increasingy anxiety ridden) children into useful voters, within a mere decade. "When one contemplates the non-profit industrial complex, it must be considered the most powerful army in the world. Employing billions of staff, all inter-connected, today’s campaigns, financed by our ruling oligarchs can become viral in a matter of hours just by the interlocking directorate working together in unity toward a common goal to instil uniform thoughts and opinions, which gradually create a desired ideology. This is the art of social engineering. Conformity and emotive content as tools of manipulation has been and always will be the most powerful weapons in the Mad Men’s toolbox. If 300, 000 people have already voted with “climate hearts” on a “trending” topic in under 48 hours – it must be a great idea. “Nobody wants to be bottom of the class.” Ingmar Retzhog, We Don’t Have Time, December 22, 2017, Nordic Business InsiderTo be clear, the West is in no position to “teach” (nudge/engineer) the “correct” value system regarding sustainability to the world, when the biggest polluters on the planet are manufactured into “climate leaders” and “climate heroes”. This is reality turned on its head. A reality we are conditioned to accept. Institutions such as the United Nations in tandem with the media, spoon-feed this insanity (that defies all logic) to the global populace, in servitude to the ruling classes. “Nudging”: Acquisition International Magazine Issue 10, 2018 This behavioral science platform lends itself to the continued devolvement of critical thinking. With virtually everything and everyone to rate all day long – who has time to look in depth at any given policy or product that after all, sounds, looks and feels simply amazing due to sophisticated marketing coupled with behavioural change tactics? It is vital to keep in mind that social engineering – and massive profit – are the key merits and purpose of this application." Just so everyone knows, I was at the local watering hole a few nights ago and she came up over some shots of Crown Royal. One of the locals corrected me regarding how to pronounce her name. He said, "It's pronounced Tune-Berg you idiot. The H is silent"! Boy was I embarrassed. I am just glad I did not dump my Exxon Mobil stock especially considering their victory in court a few days ago. What a waste of taxpayer money by New York. I am surprised Greta did not give a speech on the outcome of the case and how it could affect future litigation regarding oil and gas companies responsibilities regarding climate change. The global warming folks have been silent regarding the case. Well, if she is going to make comments about leaders like she has, she needs to at least do her homework when it comes to differences in language. Her past remarks and facial expressions clearly lead me to believe she knew exactly what she was saying. Thats exactly what the phrase implied though. She acknowledged that and apologized. Death is a central part of her 'message.' Take a look at her facial expressions in so many public appearances. One angry woman! Its hard to keep rage bottled up. It inevitably leaks out. I don't mind Greta running around being a young persons voice for better environmental practices and politics. But the over the top drama and apocalyptic warnings ruin it. Also the hypocrisy and big ole carbon footprint. Really? Kind of seems like you mind quite a bit. I do find it fascinating, given its current fad status, news coverage, and the obvious hyperbole and melodrama surrounding it. Its affected millions of well meaning people, for whom this level of emotional manipulation has had very real, actual effects on their emotional health & happiness. In her home country alone theres now been young school children requiring treatment for climate crisis anxiety that comes from learning about the cataclysmic end coming shortly. (What is it now? 12 years or something according to a young New York bartender?). These kids are too young to know of the prior decades of vanishing ozone layers, global ice age, and similar catastrophies. Greta's up to great things. Its why Time put her on the cover. I think it's yet another example of the media propagandizing the public consciousness to accept the idea that merit systems are bad. In my own life I have recently witnessed some of the most outrageous examples of competent, hard working, qualified people being given the shaft for reasons having absolutely nothing to do with the merits of their work. While simultaneously even a convicted child molester is being held up as the standard of excellence much to the horror of even folks not directly effected by corporate financial interest discrimination. What child molester is being held up as a standard of excellence? I am speaking of my own job situation. I'd be happy to post specifics if you like which can be verified by a simple visit, observing the "Employee of the Year" plaque and a simple Google search of that name for which you will only get hits relative to this individual. She is a trained puppet nothing more, children learn what they are taught and the adults doing it should be ashamed, and if you condone it your just as bad. I have no doubt she is scared and she feels this is her purpose in life, it's happening to many youth. The truth is it should not be happening at all and I look at the reason it's being done. As soon as you bring more knowledge & experience to the table and say the kid is still wet behind the ears, the next argument is, "why are you picking on kids?" I say why are you indoctrinating the youth and molding them to do your bidding. This is the biggest failure to the youth if we keep allowing it. The problem is the scientists have been overshadowed by the antics of the activists. The scientists say things like, "well we know from experiments that increasing amounts of these gases in the atmosphere lead to temperature rises", and "we have models which try to predict, often fairly well, what these temperature rises will do to the global climate". And then the activists come along and scream "WORLD TO END IN 10 YEARS!!!" and park boats in city centers to stop ordinary citizens going to work in the morning. And now they have put forward as their figurehead someone who's entire raison d'être is she is inexperienced and not a professional anything, let alone a climatologist. It's not what is often called "joined up politics". Actually no, formal education looks and teaches a young person how to look at all facts and evaluate a conclusion. It teaches past history as well as many other things to go out in the world and start off on good footing to then begin to form an adult thinking. What is happening today, is omitting past history, stopping any individual though, vilifying all thought that contradicts the means to the end. The move to push propaganda on very young people has out weighed actual education. Education doesn’t often encourage children to miss school, on the other hand. “Go to school to learn” is the traditional approach. “Leave school to protest” looks like something else entirely. Like training Hitler's youth.... It only took 12 pages to get here. And the thread comes to its inevitable conclusion, a comparison to Nazis . . . Would you prefer not looking at history? you see that's the problem with todays education. Lets not look at failures of the past that shows what we are trying to push on the youth of the future. Lets vilify the messenger of the past history because we can't let the truth get out... Got it.......ignore the failures of the past so we can repeat it in the future. I am glad she brought us the best nickname of 2019, Scoldilocks. Other than that I feel sorry for her, I think she is a 16 year old kid who has been exploited by her fame seeking mother and activists I don't blame the child. She has been taught since she was in diapers that we are destroying the planet, whatever that means. Her future has been stripped from her. A popular politician recently said we only have 10 or 12 years left, then game over. In the last 150,000 years there has been quite a number of catastrophic climate/geological events that could be described as civilization destroying. Meteor impacts, ice ages, volcanoes. Civilizations have rose and fell due to climate change, all before the advent of the internal combustion engine or coal fired power plants. We have much more to fear from Mother Nature than we do from human endeavor.

Geeze. He owns a mansion AND a yacht. Don't you understand? As a millionaire he has every right to make an asshole out of himself as often and as effectively as he is able.
Which appears to be quite often and extremely effectively.
As if the current president isn't a good enough example, Dudley seems hell bent on proving you don't have to be smart to make money in this reality we share. Or nice. In fact I suspect that nice and rich are most often mutually exclusive quantities. At least as far as Dudley and The Prez are concerned.

Take out the smiley face and this is probably the one time I've ever agreed so much with our host. I knew Dudley was a tool, but I didn't realize how far gone he was. It must suck for him to live in Canada instead of Kentucky.
