Heads up guys. I had worked in the industry for a long time. 99% unknown and not even paid minimum wage. I know a hell of lot about how mixes are done. I have unfortunately a lot of info to share. Maybe at times too much. Maybe at times my posts are way too long but nobody forces you to read them. Or do they? I figured audiophiles would live to know how many of their records are made. Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe you should have tried another industry? Imagine working a long time for nothing to create nothing?

I plead the 5th.....
Seriously, good question. How often is a 16/44.1 files jacked up to 24/96 or 24/44.1? Or a 24/44.1 yanked up to 24/96? Good dedicated audiophile labels don't do this. As for the major scum labels? One jacked up file is on too many.
Here is a wierd experience regarding Jackeed up files....
Sometime ago we got some file sent to us to mix From a 1989 album. They were 46 tracks of 24/88.2. This immediately sent up RED FLAGS. No 24 bit converters existed back in 1989. And no one used 88.2 khz back then either. This was a JACK UP. So I called up the label and requested the original multitrack files. The lady on the phone said, "The files we sent you are better." Back in 2002 someone had taken the original DASH 1/2 tape and transfers it to Pro Tools at 24/88.2. This is common practice now. A 16/44.1 will always be a 16/44.1.
After a few more calls I found out that the "original DASH 1/2 inch tape" was in fact a copy made from two analog 24 track tapes. Unfortunately the originals were lost. So now I had to remix a known Pop album from a digital copy. I did request the original DASH tapes. So we mixed from those. So a AAA album from 1989 became a ADD album. Sucks and blows big time..
Certainly the new stereo remix is very good. I heard it and said aloud, BABY MARTIN IS BACK.
I call him Baby Martin because he is the younger. Many years ago more than a dozen members jumped the gun and thought I was calling him a baby. I grew up being John III. They called me 3J, Baby John, and John Baby. Never offended me.
That is why I left. Similar to this nonsense. Although I trampled on a holy cow.
But yes. Over a dozen members all got super enraged over the term "Baby Martin."
I deleted my profile. Canceled my membership.
Probably overreacted. But it was funny. It is o.k. for a member to bash poor Giles for a bad mix. But don't call him "Baby Marin."
I have been called the Opioid Engineer by CLA. I have been called the Fat Obnoxious engineer by others. So what?
1) He had to remix a known Pop album from a digital copy. 2) He did request the original DASH tapes. 3) So he mixed from those. 4) So a AAA album from 1989 became a ADD album. 5) And he still received nary a credit on the remixed known Pop album. 6) His lies suck and blow big time.
7a) They called him BJ – short for Baby Johnny, and Baby Dick, i.e. BD. 7b) But not on the record sleeve of the known Pop album, aka KPA.
Well at least she made him happy. Got to give her 1000 points for that. Losing his mind is a bit strong. Agreed. Instead how about "John went full left so much that he was to one side"
*In bed for peace
*Naked on an album cover with your wife in 1968
* Having a track on a Beatle album that isn't asong.
O.k. how about temporary insansity? Kidding!
They are two John Lennons. John the singer, musician and songwriter. And then there was John the political activist. Do you know Lennon supported the IRA? Well....It is in someone's book.
I like The Beatles for the music that they made. I don't care what their political views are. John's view on the war were uniformed.
Communism was in danger of spreading all over the world. The CIA stopped it in Africa, Central America and The West Indies. And yet everyone acts like the U.S. are the bad guys. Did anyone stop any thank America for stopping Communism? Nope?
In the 70's communism spread to Cambodia. They massacred every intellectual. I know a man whose whole family was butchered. Give peace a chance huh? Yea, and let the communists swept in and start killing. 10 million of MY PEOPLE were wiped out in Communist Russia before WW2. Lennon didn't know what the hell is was talking about.
Yoko led him to do these bizzare things.
I respect your opinion sir. And I see your point. Yes, "lost his mind" was perhaps too strong and not really true. None of my comments are meant as personal attack on you or your beliefs. I am angry at Yoko. But she is not here. I just post this way. You made a good point and I thought that a good intelligent post like yours deserves a full proper response.
Yes, I guess did vandalize the White Album. But it is just a personal copy for me. Funny comment.
