Oh, for me it's a souvenir as I was at the 2nd concert on November 1st. Cried most of the night, with joy, and now listening to this disk the eyes are getting moist again. The guitars crunch, Charlie is a powerhouse, and when I close my eyes I can see us all up in that balcony, not singing, but screaming the lyrics along with the Boys, our Boys, our rock and roll Boys.
2 others that belong in this thread, but I can't find the original poats (quite possibly deleted):
"With meds she should be just the perfect wife you desire" is a classic M*****l-ism.
And who was it who called Raquel Welch "too ethnic" to be attractive?

Remember when teeth was the thing? Good times.
"I must say though, artists like Kurt or Thelonious Monk who people think have something to say of the highest importance but are really just suicidal or insane sort of freak me out. Why? Well, everyone thought Monk was really "out there" but they followed his lead and jazz changed. Turns out he really was insane and was finally locked up. Does that mean that the jazzers were wrong to follow him? No, but still." - STeVE
The “too ethnic” thing came from some douche that called himself BenCasey.
He's still spreading sunshine at BSN forums.
This was a in a thread where I was enlightening them about STeVE's thieving, lying assholery. They wiped all off my posts, a real rarity in that forum where pinheads like Uncle Bob can be as obnoxious as they like without being censored or censured.

I just looked into the M*****l/meds thing, trying to find the original quote.
And while it’s a beaut on its own, it actually looks like he was referencing the OP (a guy who’s wife had been recently diagnosed as bipolar and started on medication for it).
Anyway, here’s the entire thing (both the OP and M*****l’s reply are from July 29, 2008):
For The Love said:
Possible divorce - what and what not to do
My wife dropped a bombshell on me yesterday evening and has decided that after 14 years of marriage she wants out.
We have 3 kids, all girls, 2, 8 and 10 years old.
During the conversation last night things got heated and she went into my music room/home theater and started throwing cds, records and movies around. I asked her to calm down and she started walking across what she had thrown on the floor.
At this time I went back into the main house and called the police on her. My two oldest daughters are in FL visiting their grandparents for the summer and my baby was asleep.
When the police arrived they got both sides of the story and said because there were no signs of domestic abuse they couldn't do anything because we own the house together. They told her that if I found anything broken or missing after that point she would be arrested.
She refused to leave so therefore the police asked if I minded staying in a different room, which I was already planning on doing. I told them I would leave but I wanted to take my daughter with me and they said that I could not do that.
Today, my wife called and was upset and wanted to try to work things out. I've been through this type of behavior so many times in the past I'm numb. I never called the law before because I didn't want my kids to see their parents in that situation, so I just dealt with it.
I told her that she needed to get help and I couldn't make any guarantees, but was afraid what she may do because she just never seems happy. Today she went to see a doctor and they diagnosed her as bi-polar and started her on medication. I went by the house to check on our daughter and get some things so I can continue somewhat of a life out of a suitcase.
I asked her to please let me take the baby with me so she can have some time to herself and also try to adjust the medication and make sure there are no adverse reactions and she refused.
I don't know what to do at this point. I feel bad for her, but I can't stay with her because I feel bad for her. Her behavior over the years has alienated her from her familiy and some of our closest friends.
All I want is to be able to get my girls and raise them where they won't have to worry about hearing arguments or being fussed at for no reason.
My parents have been married for 35 years and all of my friends are married and have never gone through divorce or separation.
I know I sound like a kid, but I just don't know where to start or what to do.
VOWS...for better or worse through sickness and health...
love her...as hard as it may be now.
With meds she should be just the perfect wife you desire.
The whole thread is a typically obnoxious amalgamation of useless SHite “advice”, but in fairness to M*****l, I believe he was mainly just trying to tell the guy to stick things out due to his marriage vows, and that her bipolar medication would help (albeit in a totally ham-fisted way).
Out of context, the meds quote is bad, but in light of the OP, it takes on a less sinister feeling.
One thing I have always wondered is where “STeVE” (or “STeVe”) came from. I don’t know why but that always makes me laugh when I see it. I have a friend named Steve and when I try to email him my phone now automatically corrects to STeVE!
As usual, a bunch of forum members were excitedly taking about the original SMiLE upcoming releases in a fairly interesting thread free of flaming or jokes about Mike Love or whatever. And of course, the conversation was NOT about Hoffman. So like a dick, he deleted the original thread and started his own APPROVED thread.
Hi, first time poster (just registered after googling SMiLE info and came upon the site). Anyone know where the thread went with all the press release links? It was there before I registered, and now it's gone. Am I not searching in the right place? If anyone could direct me to that other thread, I'd greatly appreciate it. Oh, and I might be a first time poster, but I am a long time SMiLE devotee (hence what I consider proper lower case/upper case spelling)!
