I have to say I kept reading this waiting for STeVe to say he was on the investigation team for the Tate-LaBianca murders and without his identification “ol’ Squeaks” would still be roaming free.

I was best friends with Frank Battiston from about 1974 to 1984. He lived across the street and about 5 houses down.Visited him nearly every day.
I cannot remember his house number.
Yet Steve can recall every little detail from that long ago.
It's his gift, and it's his curse.

I was just thinking - I recently (well, last year) met up with two close friends who live overseas for the first time in seven years. It took me a moment to pick them out of a crowd despite having seen their faces regularly a few years back. That ‘Squeaker’ tale is utter bullshit.

Even if he remembered the first name of the girls he was spending time with, there is strictly no point naming them for commodity, as they're not mentioned anymore individually after their description (or elsewhere by STeVE). That's Fake Story 101. You put details that serve no purpose other than suggesting you've got a great memory, but they actually help burying your most egregious lies under a sea of random facts that make it harder for your audience to make a judgement.
Also, the Manson Family were people of interest in the case, but it took four months before they were arrested and charged, making the headlines in the process. The investigation originally favored satanists, not hippies, because the cops thought the murders were connected to Polanski directing Rosemary's Baby.

I’m guessing STeVe acted as a consultant with his long history and association with Charlie and “Squeeks” ...

As usual with any of Steve's sea stories, I don't believe a fucking word of it.

Steve says: "Bat**** Crazy Person, she was sentenced to life for the assassination attempt on President Gerald Ford in 1975. She got out in 2009. She used a WW1 era Colts' Army issue M1911 auto to try and kill Ford. Good thing she didn't know how to rack the friggin' slide or things might have been tragic that day. Here she is looking so darn sweet and normal with fellow looney Sandra Goode on the left. Note the little praying mantis on her shoulder... Very rare photo.." I'll never forget going to Spahn Ranch as a kid the same week the Manson murders took place. We lived just 15 minutes away in Simi Valley and my mom, grandma and I took my brother for his birthday. He ended up going on a horseback ride with Tex Watson while my mom, grandma and I peered into the darkened windows of the buildings at the ranch. Kinda glad nobody invited us inside. :yikes:
Good times.

I very much doubt Steve has ever read anything by Tolkien. He probably can't read.

I want to here more about that neat minty WW1 era Colts' Army issue M1911 auto. Here's a photo from STeVE's rare cool basement safe.
