Kaepernick miscalculated with his kneeling stunt. He was living the American dream, quarterback for one of the premiere teams in the NFL, a success story, a when a few years prior, there were no African-American quarterbacks at all. Signed a $16 million contract, big endorsement deals, you name it. Sitting on top of the world, a shining example for every underpriviledged ghetto kid who looked up to him, saying, "Someday I can be like him, there's hope for me." And what does he do?He gives the American flag, the symbol of everything patriotic and good about this country the finger in front of millions of fans. Humilates the team owners that made him rich and famous. Embarrasses his teammates, and polarizes the whole league. Wears socks depicting police officers as pigs. Calls Betsy Ross a racist, and blackmails his biggest sponsor, Nike.
Of course he got kicked out of the league, which he then sued (of course), and now he plays the martyr. What did he really accomplish? Became the poster boy for ingratitude, and fanned the flames of racism even more.

In these days of indigestion, it is often times a questionOf what to eat, and what to leave alone
Every microbe and bacillus has a different way to kill us
And in time they will claim us for their own.
For there are germs of every kind in every food that you can find
In the market or upon the bill of fare
Drinking water’s just as risky as the so-called deadly whiskey
And its often a mistake to breathe the air.

There is a town nearby from here that is racially mixed, and has one of the highest per capita incomes in the United States for Black residents. You will not find them protesting, rioting, cleaning out a liquor store from the back door,, or trashing Target. They have become educated, become integral parts and contributors of society, and act accordingly.Too bad the focus is seldom on them.

Didnt know racist and insensitive Comments like this were allowed here. Wow.noname74 said:
I’d love to see you dare to use that term outside where people of colour could hear you.sami said:
Anyone with a shred of a sense of humor would understand it was satire.sami said:
Those with half a brain would get the joke. I guess it's asking a lot to expect someone here to do the same.noname74 said:
My point stands. Joke of not you wouldn’t dare say that in public. So why do you think it’s ok to say it here?SlevinKelevra said:
Man up and drop some jokes with the N word then.BRODNATION said:
Why don't you man up and fill out your profile? You know the thing all members are told to do?sami said:
Damn, are you guys so utterly bereft of a sense of humor that you don't get obvious satire? I've said the same to blacks I've known in the same context and they laughed, because their entire existence isn't about the color of their skin, like it is to you.Wright said:
You're right, it's not 1967, but how do you think MLK would have responded to the cases of George Floyd and Eric Garner?sami said:
With complete outrage, as he or any decent human being (of any skin color!) should. But I can be pretty sure from reading about him that he would have done everything in his power to stop the insane looting and trashing of cities.Dudley Morris said:
He would’ve recognized they were cases of police brutality arising from a militaristic trigger-happy police culture, and not race issues.GregM said:
We don't have to guess about this. MLK was quite clear and I didn't read anything that called for burning and looting in this wonderful book.SandAndGlass said:
Physical destruction of property by mobs and anarchy are acts that are tantamount to treason.Which is to say that they this seeks to negate law and order in a civilized society.
