Avanti1960 bought a power cord and it made his sound worse! I know it's the dumbest dead horse in the world, but I always seem to slow down and look at this particular car crash. It's funny how the SHiTe's can't stand someone not seeing an amazing benefit from a power cord. It kind of starts out okay, with others saying power cords and conditioners "sucked the life out of their systems etc." but the Cherrycherry gets us back on track with magical thinking: Same length? It's a power cord. Will a foot or so matter to the electricity coming from the power plant? Can you hear a difference if the power is a foot too far away or a foot too close? Experiment how? With your anus would be my recommendation, just leave the cord plugged in, please. Don't return the cable you didn't like, cut the connectors off and rewire your old one! Maybe you can have two wrecked cables instead of one! We need to bring back the dunce cap.

Seriously, and I ask this with all seriousness because I am not one of the mind to understand mechanical/electrical/plumbing aspects of life: how does electricity make a difference? If I rewired my microwave with a new plug would I get more watts out of it? Wouldn’t that be taking the chance of blowing the damn thing up?
How much psychobabble can be fed to these people? Audiophile is a mental disorder. I guess if it’s on STeVe’s site it must be true, uh?

How much psychobabble? I'm not sure but it's got to be a hole deeper than the Mariana Trench. I don't think it's anywhere near close to full. Funny how the electrical engineers that use science to design their components have formulas that determine how much power cord is required and safe and the yabbo's at SH.tv with tinnitus and their speakers occasionally out of phase can hear these differences that no one else can hear.

Even the "pros" on that forum haven't got a handle on the basics. Fortunately for power cord manufacturers, this doesn't stop the lesser SHites from opening their wallets.

Lonson is a real nice guy, but his quick review of the latest A Love Supreme reissue is so audiophoolish it hurts. His 7000th copy of the same album. New power cords not broken in yet. Etc.
"Regarding the new UHQCD of "A Love Supreme" I got to listen to my copy once through yesterday at the end of my listening session. Unfortunately I had made a power cable change to my regenerator and so my system was not completely warmed up again, so I'm not sure I got the very best listen possible, but it's an exceptionally nice sounding transfer and mastering--I noticed a few fine details in the piano sound I hadn't before, that was my initial big takeaway.
This morning I got to sneak in a listen to the new UHQCD of "John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman" and was deeply impressed. This one sounds fantastic, and I can't wait to hear it, "A Love Supreme" and "Duke Ellington and John Coltrane" . . . but will have to wait a bit, my wife is off today until Tuesday. I'll see what I can sneak in. The power cable change was a nice bit of improvement.

Yikes, heh. Must be why he sticks around over there. It's like finding out someone is a flat earther.

Didn't the Kinks invent power chords?
