I just want to say, and I may be in the minority, but I just looked at his discography and I couldn’t give a fuk about any of the remasters he’s done. I’m pretty sure I don’t own any nor do I plan to own any. Wonder why I didn’t do this before?

I own several titles where he is co-credited with Kevin Grey, which means I own several titles that Kevin Grey prevented him from fucking up.
As for titles he independently mastered, I don’t think I have any because nothing I have sounds like shite.

As far as I know, I have two CDs with the Hoofy "breath of taint". Dwight Twilley Band 'Sincerely' and a Jimmy Bryant/Speedy West comp. I bought both years before I ever heard of STeVE.

Sorry, I'm more of a George Marino fan.

In a collection of (according to Discogs) 3,888 records, tapes, CDs and whatever else, I've got his version of Donald Fagen's Morph The Cat LP, and his second-hand mastering of that shitty alternate Forever Changes cassette on CD. Oh, and the Pixies' cover of his surf song ringer.
I think I had a version of Who's Missing that he did, and maybe some White Stripes album, but they're long gone.

Did he do the Pixies' purple album on Cee Dee? If so I've got that, but I never listen to it.

The only thing I have with his name on it is the 4-LP vinyl Stadium Arcadium.
I will say I was impressed at how much better it sounds to the CD (as do most RHCP vinyl records from One Hot Minute on) – but I’ll chalk that up to Kevin Gray, not Hoofy.

Off the top of my head, I have the Gold DCC Leon Russell, the Del-Rack Delta Lady Leon Russell disc, and Dave Mason's Alone Together which may be a Hoofy master (plus a few Doors downloads.)

None. I can’t tell the difference between what all these people claim they can hear (unless something is remixed and I hear an instrument I never noticed before) because I haven’t got the ears.

Oh, come on. Yes, Hoffman is a flaming cunt. But, no, not every reissue he did sucks.

I have two albums that he's credited with mastering: the DCC Highway 61 Revisited and a Louvin Brothers comp on Razor & Tie. They both sound fine. Thanks to whoever his ghostmasterer was.

I think the point is that, for the few albums I have from him was it really him or Kevin Gray that I have to thank? No clue.
I don't think I have any STeVE's earlier output and I heard his attempt on "Hounds of Love" was pretty crappy (have a needledrop of it that definitely sounded bad, never bought the LP). And of course anything from the last decade or so was generally stuff I wouldn't buy to begin with.
But that's fine -- when Golden Ears starts remasterbating some of my faves from the aughts and 10's I'll give them a listen. I'm sure he's working feverishly on lots of that stuff as we speak.

I bought and sold the CCR titles. I thought they sounded like shit. There was a Heart compilation that completely castrated the music.
And the ZZ Top vinyl he did with the bass so goosed it's almost unplayable.

I actually like the dcc A Night at the Opera, and I like his Close to the Edge. ::chair emoji:: for music taste and remasturbater(s)
