Are there plans for 50th Anniversary John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band? What should be on it?

Mike's profile pic has suddenly turned into the "Angela" section of the Sometime In NYC album cover....Captain Paul said:
oh no. Last thing we need is John Lennon -BLM Edition. adm62 said:
I believe John would be front and centre in this movement if he was around now.Captain Paul said:
Not the point. The thing is, he isn’t here so digging him up from the grave to support a movement is tacky at best. Unless such a release intends to donate the money to charity, making money off of using a dead musician’s music to support a movement is very tasteless.green_ovation said:
I agree, we don’t know what his political views would be at age 80. He might be living in a cottage off the coast of Ireland, looking at his scrapbook of madness and not saying a word.Captain Paul said:
Not only do we not know what is political views would be at age 80, we don’t know how involved he would still be with it. After the Sometime in New York City era, he backed off of it more and more, especially after Sean was born. He didn’t seem interested during the Double Fantasy/Milk and Honey era.green_ovation said:
I totally agree, he kept getting burned by association with people and movements who only used him for his name value. Also, after the One To One concerts, he never did charity benefits, nor donated album proceeds, and spoke out against the idea of the Beatles reuniting for charity. He gave privately to whomever he chose to, including furnishing bulletproof vests for the NYPD. That’s why I’m saying, like you are, let’s not tie his name to anything he wasn’t associated with in life.green_ovation said:
I think at the 80th birthday mark, and 40th anniversary of his murder, we should be thinking of him when this project is released, not any charities. He deserves it.lordcat said:
Yes and we can't judge his political views on 2 years of eccentricity which ended in 1972 which was all Yoko's doing anyway, Yoko that socialist brought up by a wealthy banking family married to the most famous and extremely rich rock star on the planet.
