I'm good with Astral Weeks Moondance Veedon Fleece
but my Favorite VM jamb is "Heavy Connection" from A Period Of Transition.
My older brother got me into him in the '70s. He's a huge fan to this day, but even back then he was telling me stories about what a complete asshole he was.

His Bang stuff is all over the place, but "T.B. Sheets" is fantastic. I prefer the early version of "Beside You" to the one on Astral Weeks too.

He clearly doesn’t have the ears.

I have avoided Marcus for decades, so I missed that he was a Mekons fan. Good to know we agree on one thing.

Give Veedon Fleece a try. Agree about Veedon Fleece. It is pretty amazing, definitely my favourite. Also not mentioned so far - Tupelo Honey isn't bad, and the Live album It's too late to stop now.

I love the Mekons for the fun live shows, the raw-yet-solid playing. But something about them sure turns on all the weeniest rock critics; Christgau is another one.

Christgau also loves my favorite Thelonious Monk album, but I take solace in the fact Monk didn't make that album for either of us.

There are 51 "Why are you on Facebook?" repeated in "Why Are You on Facebook?"
I had a morbid curiosity about the album, which clocks at slightly more than two hours. The lyrics are quite an embarrassment, not just because of the topics. They're often the equivalent of a series of comments posted on Yahoo News or some other unmoderated mainstream site by some angry boomer who feels entitled to dispensing his wisdom to the world. Well, that's not very surprising, based on what Morrison has released for more than 20 years, but instead of just a couple of songs on an album, he has here many more tunes where he just bitches about some random topic (most of the time, a variation on how sad it is not to be Van Morrison).

Alexis Petridis’s review is a work of art from the heading: depressing rants by tinfoil milliner.
“ It’s a genuinely depressing listen, but at least there’s a kind of purpose here, even if it isn’t the purpose its creator intends. The album opens with the title track, which demands to know why people are more interested in Morrison’s work “from long ago” than what he’s doing now. Should anyone be wondering the same thing, Latest Record Project then answers said question in the most exhaustive detail imaginable.”

"They Own the Media" is much more harmless than what the title could promise, but now I'm free to share with you the suckitude of "Why Are You on Facebook?" that I had previously mentioned.
Fifty-one fucking times...

Pity the SHiTEs who have to convince themselves Van's new music is good for ideological reasons. I hate Facebook too, but that song fucking suuuuucks.
