Later, DCC sued the newspapers for claiming that Hoffman "removed" clicks and pops, citing that Hoffman's job was actually to enhance these minty tape flaws.

STeVE was mentioned in some DCC CD reviews in the LA Times as a " remixer who removes the hiss and pops from old music." Not trying to split hairs, but I think Sparkydog’s intro and the linked-to article are mismatched. The article is not related to DCC (it’s from when Stevie-boy was still at MCA). What’s more, “Buddy Holly – For the First Time Anywhere” came out in 1983 – before the Buddy Holly/Picks brouhaha got Hoffman shit-canned. However, knowing that this is from the time when STeVE’s grabby fingers were still unchecked at MCA, the author’s use of the word “lost” seems so naive and sweet.

I think I have a new favorite thread. No matter how shitty the day, I know can come here and read "Someone named Steve Hoffman" and it'll cheer me right the fuck up.

I would love to see someone with an account to burn up over there add an image of this article and fake outrage at the “someone named STeVe Gufferman” comment just to see the responses of the dolts over there.

Not trying to split hairs, but I think Sparkydog’s intro and the linked-to article are mismatched. That is correct. It was just a random comment from me because I lost the newspaper clipping about the hiss and pops.
