If anyone ever wants to understand why guitars are no longer cool like they once were, or why rock is not that popular among the younger generation they should just either go on that thread or watch some of rfeeman's videos.

The combined effect surely will mean no other explanation is necessary. All those high end Fender and Gretsch guitars are there for anyone who can afford them regardless of whether they can play them or not. I'm pretty sure signature guitars are mostly bought by people who can barely strum a basic chord sequence.
