LM, I *am* categorically complaining. To be ultra clear, I'm a huge supporter of well done remixes which, I hate to say it-after listening to the first two LP's-this is NOT. In fact, this may be the worst set of remixing I've heard with anything associated with The Beatles. Just about everything negative that's being said here about these remixes. I now hate to say, I agree with. I'm a Beatles fanatic and pretty much buy it *all*. This was a mistake. The power has been virtually drained out of all all the recordings. Perhaps it's the way the LP's were mastered...I can't say as I haven't heard the CD version. But in keeping it real, much as I was looking extremely forward to receiving this set, I'm depressingly disappointed.

What do they think they are going to hear that makes them think they are young in the early seventies again? The remixes are never going to sound completely familiar and totally new.

Fucks sake. What do these fuckers expect when it was recorded in Lennon's back room 50 years ago. Crap in, crap out.

But DK Pete is also looking forward to more remixes: I don’t know when the above comment was made in relation to the first comment quoted but doesn’t matter. This is the essential SHiTe thought process: bitch and moan about something but continue buying things in the series to just bitch and moan about it.

Is anyone gonna tell them that you're supposed to enjoy this stuff? I had a very pleasant Saturday night going to Target and playing the new Lennon comp.

DK Pete, buddy, you already had all these songs. You don't need this thing! I love The Beatles and I never buy any of this shit because I've already heard all their music. Stop buying this stuff. There are no more songs to hear.

The Cobbins mix "blows the original out of the water". Yes, a remix of a crude 50 year old recording is transcendent. Idiot.

About the new Lennon set: Napoleon_In_Rags Psst... Don’t anyone tell him that his “Japanese” 2LP edition was actually imported into Japan (likely from the E.U.). [Universal Music Japan merely added its own English/Japanese translation sheet.] (AFAIK, domestically-made vinyl records are no longer a thing in Japan. The labels just import the vinyl themselves, add a translation sheet, and sell it as an “imported domestic” version.) The UMJ website clearly shows that the Gimme Some Truth vinyl was imported into Japan – they even put that info into the fucking title!
