I totally “get” and agree with virtually all your points in your last III posts. But - the “low rent, predictable “ nature of the trilogy description may be exactly what they are going for. Going for the casual listener. Those folks that recognize Paul’s name, remembers Maybe I’m Amazed and/or Coming Up - will think this new album has threads to those songs and I, II. Understandably, Macca Aficionados are dedicated, even rabid purchasers of McCartney music, so they’re responding to their love of the music and not basic advertising. I venture to guess that Paul’s choice for the album’s name was actually: “Rockdown. “ I definitely prefer that name. Once the “3” campaign of dice is put in the drawer, I predict other names will organically evolve - especially when we have the music to shout down the numeric chants. Remember - The White Album was not named that. It was “The Beatles” Then it evolved into “The Beatles, Double Album.” This was organically transformed into “The Double Album.” Finally, the universe declared it “The White Album.” I’m going to call III - “Rockdown.” If forum members and Paul fans like that - then call it “Rockdown”. “ROCKDOWN” , it is. McCartney III it is. For us that means a lot. The rest of the world doesn t care. I Personally love the idea of a McCartney III album. Totally valid point -as is Rockdown - “As McCartney intended”. LOL I treasure the freedom, playfulness and creativity The Beatles gave us, so we can all enjoy our preferences together. But why? What do you think is wrong with the album’s title? That’s what I don’t get. Nothing is wrong with it. I would have preferred Rockdown. My McCartney Fan Club Card is locked in a safe . McCartney fans are allowed to have different opinions. I gave mine at least three times...............see my previous posts.......you can’t take my fan club membership away..... LOL......... As: I’ve said before - it’s not a problem for me - that it’s called III - But I prefer the name - Rockdown. It’s about - Now, What’s coming out of his creative mind during this year, this time in World History. A musical touchstone. I hope nobody here was upset when you or a friend called “The Beatles “ their 2 LP album - The White Album.” . Look, it was easier for them to send dice to promote III then to send Rocks in the mail for Rockdown LOL. A massive LIVE Anthology - in the style of Tom Petty’s (Inclusive of rare, less performed songs, NEVER released live performed songs, covers, and alternative live versions and Very, very Affordable ) is in order. The release should be somewhere in the middle of release of this Rockdown (III) album and his next studio release after that one. Can’t wait for McCartney III , “Rockdown” album! It’s guaranteed to be a hoot;) I hope we get some of this voice on McCartney III Rockdown: (Isolated vocal) As a broad, 30,000 foot view of the forthcoming release of McCartney III (Rockdown) album it’s an O.K. Article. Uh, uh, for casual fans. For the dedicated McCartney fan, it’s only a mere sample portion of an appetizer . Here’s the type of song/live performance we need on digital, disc and vinyl, as discussed a few days ago. It’s “Ram On” from RAM album. Live in Philadelphia, Pa. USA (Maybe some mandolin On McCartney III / Rockdown Album?) Given how Macca started 2020 - and how it’s turned out for the World - It’s a good thing he got into a Rockdown mode and made great music and stayed safe, LOL. 10th Track Song Title? “Rockdown” McCartney III poster from the Uncut issue Great to see “Made in Rockdown “on there!” Regarding expectations: Of course the tendency of Macca fans is to want it to sound like their favorite Paul albums. This Hope is always increased when we are teased by reviews and articles that reference a specific album or song. This expectation curiosity is alway raised as we await the release - especially when this one is named as a family member or “trilogy” entry to McCartney (I, II). I expect this to be different from those two. Paul used several descriptions, “Rockdown” is the one that sticks with me. Apart from the Covid implications, it tells me he got locked- in, musically and got ‘down’. I Expect some jamming, wordless verbal sounds and dissonant musical stripes mixed in with the more standard melodies and warm rasps. Depending on one’s favorite NON - McCartney music, is how this will be received. Fans of metal, techno, House music will probably not be as fond of it as folk , pop , jam and rock fans. Then- there’s always that McCartney curve ball....so who knows? Chances are - if it doesn’t catch your ear now, it will prove to be a “grower” and kidnap your ears in weeks, or months or years - that’s also a Macca trademark.

A true top-tier SHiTE If I went to the approximately 15 or so people in the building right now and asked "who sang Coming Up", not a single one of them would know.

I’ve got a new strategy in getting “my same day “ McCartney release. This year still involves Target - where their apparently uniform opening day Roll-Out screw ups work to my advantage . I’ll go to the store on Dec. 11th and tell them it’s the day for McCartney III - and to get the CD from the back room! If it’s there it’s mine.if not, worth’s the try. If they know it’s been moved to the 18th - then count me surprised. What's the likelihood that Target or Amazon foul up and send the CDs out by the 11th anyway? I’m betting that, I’m going to the store on the 11th and preparing a polite chat for the stockroom people to get my CD out of storage and into my hot hands.

And what's the likelihood that FLAC versions will be up for free on trackers everywhere before the 11th? Idiots.
And no one bothering to download it

They needed an extra week to find more colors to issue it on. I'm holding out for some patented McCartney Mauve.

Maybe before release, they could “fly in” the word “Rockdown” somewhere on the cover art

TODAY’s Howard Stern interview (over an hour) with Paul McCartney, Just posted this now, will listen soon. Please post interesting news, quotes, information from Macca, here. Enjoy! MACCA INTERVIEW with STERN, DEC. 15, 2020 Refers to recording III as Rockdown, Loves drumming, Couldn’t get band in to record because of Covid Talking Hamburg, drumming, piano started in Germany, wrote 64 on piano in his childhood home. Loves creating music, it’s magic. NOT a prodigy like Elton. Didn’t like first music lessons at school, Sabotaged music class, instead of listening to Beethoven, class smoked ciggies. Only John noticed he was a songwriter, old John story, saw him on bus, etc. John had beer breath when they met, lol. More old stories of forming band with Lennon. Describes self as deliberate decision maker, Paul says John confided in him when John’s dad contacted John for first time.after John made it successfully. Describes tough childhood of John, etc, Paul says he and John were mostly joyful, happy together, realized later, John was going deep on songs, like Help! Disagrees with Stern, when Howard says John resented Paul towards end of Beatles John loved Yoko, etc Stern getting petty about cute Beatle vs. John, Paul disagrees, noever a problem. Actually hated being labeled cute Beatle Ringo, Bonham, Moon Favorite drummers Crazy behavior of Moon, Bonham never happened with Paul, they were “sweet” with him George rejected fame the most . F -words abound. LOL Cautious trait from Papa McCartney. Beatles came to resent Paul organizing recording schedule, sessions, old Pepper, avante garde stories “Salt and Pepper” became Sgt Pepper. Pepper, alter ego to Beatles, liberated them from Beatles image, music Within Without You welcomed in new format Paul forces segue to McCartney III Stern goes back to McCartney I Maybe I’m Amazed. Outdoor have been Beatle song Stern didn’t receive III in time for interview MIA = Linda, his love of music overcame liking for the drink Linda would have loved camera phones Mary taken up Linda’s love of photography John contributed a little bit to Eleanor Rigby Paul says he’s very self critical which helps his writing Doesn’t consult Nancy or anyone if they like a song But if he has a producer, will do that Pleased with III positive reviews Macca loved to go to others recording sessions Owns dads piano, which was bought at Brian Epstein ‘s dad’s music store. Records bits often on iPhone Goes through iPhone recoding titles, this one is John’s Boots, about Lennon 909. Brought back to record because of great memories writing it Relied on memory, pencil-paper when they wrote Anxiety dreams, all of audience walks out while he performs Recently had sex dream Generous music scene, happy to help Stones with a song he wrote with John Arranged release of records dates with Stones to avoid conflict Claims Swift moved date of release to accommodate Paul Rain - Bass is up, didn’t matter who wrote it, suggested louder vocal for George on a song, said George responded: “you can hear it - if you fuc%in listen!” Deep deep feeling, thought of edit I got it down, but liked long , final version No pressure recording was great Nancy supportive Macca message to listeners: “Even though irs been a frightening year........we need to take some lessons, slow down, value time with family.....in ways it’s brought some people together........look for silver linings..... Hasn’t gotten vaccine yet, insists health care workers get it first, not jumping ahead of others. Says hi to long lost Spanish pen pal as child, Rodriguo SUMMARY: Great fun, as usual, particularly for Beatle era fans. Near zero about Wings, Solo era or music. Almost ZERO about III, Stern says he was not given a copy of album! BIG FAIL by MPL!!! Basically, ruined any chance of decent insight- commentary on the music of Rockdown/III. If I wasn’t a big Beatle Fan, this interview would have disappointed me. But as a big Beatles fan and admirer of Paul, it was great. Wings, solo music fans need to identify 2-3 knowledgeable, passionate and informed McCartney professionals who can conduct interviews with Paul that illuminate The music of Wings and solo McCartney. 21st Century Macca fans also need their own 2-3 McCartney experts and music fans that are enthusiastic and musically informed, so they can draw out Paul for interesting interviews. Paul needs to participate in them. Expecting Beatle centric personalities to focus on almost anything but Beatles music is not realistic. Annoying? Frustrating? Unfair? Yes to all three questions. Time to add Wings/solo oriented interviews? Hell, yes ! Way past time? Like - decades pst time. Solution . Identify those qualified, submit questions, lobby MPL HARD and propose a format and schedule that anticipates the next releases. ADD them to the legacy oriented interviews, but these different interviews will be designed to get Paul talking about his stuff from 1970’,onward. Someone on SHF could start this by getting some of its official Paul experts together with several ‘ super fans” for an article/ interview. Then submit it to Paul’s team to get an interview recorded, printed, digitalized. You may want to start with Wings members, Paul’s live band members and solo producers Paul is not doing it MPL is not doing it His fans need to do it. Shows good judgement by Paul Not only is the world listening, but also those “groupies” and his current wife. Don’t think he’s going to say: “Those three blondes in Hollywood - inspired Helter Skelter, Slidin’, too, loved that Honey Pie in Sweden, that Aussie gal had me hopping like a Kangeroo, Lil and I did it in the Lavatory, then there was Pam dressed only in clear cellophane........Joan and Valerie put the Hammer on me! Oh Carol was Oh Darling, I actually ‘shagged’ Eleanor Rigby in the confession booth. - very private area......
