Wasn't there once a forum dedicated to SHite romance called D-I-V-O-R-C-E? This probably would have gone in there.
He means: if you break up, what is a comforting artist to listen to?
All the answers are beyond stupid. Donald Fagen?!? One momo suggested "Someone saved my Life Tonight" by Elton John, which would be such a SHite thing to listen to. Any woman should consider herself lucky to get away from the simpering wimp in the corner crying over an Elton John song as she walks out. It's her life saved, not yours pal.
However, I was struck by the goofiness of this one:
I love how they phrase things. He calls it "my last breakup" to let us know he's had a few, so we need to understand it is from the point of view of a knowledgeable ladies' man. This stud goes around saying fruity, emo things like "I am sad and want some music that reflects that" to himself. That alone is enough to make him look like a dummy and a wimp. So the first thing he thinks of is Pearl Jam? As a devout non-fan, does Pearl Jam even "reflect" sadness? I don't know enough of their songs to know, but one I do know that is kinda sad is "Better Man", which is about a woman wanting to escape the torment of living with some jackass, which isn't what I would want to hear... Led Zeppelin ("Does anybody remember quaaludes?") helps him to rise above it...? And then the savior Prince. What does he mean "jam out" to his music? I only hear very square granddaddies talk that way. Does he mean he whips out a guitar and plays along? Or does it mean he goes wild, boppin' his head and stomping his feet? Either way, the image is ridiculous.
And so far there have been no less than four separate recommendations of Harry Nilsson. These guys never do fucking ever listen to anything new, do they?

My last breakup took me to different artists for different moods. Pearl Jam for my "I am sad and want some music that reflects that" to Led Zeppelin when I wanted to rise above it and just crank up some rocking artists, and then to Prince who also is near impossible to feel bad when jamming out to his music.I love how they phrase things.
