At least from his reflection in the vinyl it looks like he’s keeping his smart phone minty fresh in a SHiTE leather pouch. What a prick.

I just bought my first vinyl in years and went to the city to get it ripped to digital. The record store I'd usually go to for such service has closed (which I didn't know until I got there, oops). I wound up in midtown, at a recording studio, where they offered the service.
I kinda wish my old man kept his record player that could rip to a USB. He got it from QVC, ripped two records, and then sent it back. Cheap fuck.

Today Den is worried about mould and has made a pillock of himself by interviewing record shop owners about it. Mouldy Pecker

Later in the thread someone recommends the "Groovemaster label saver device". I quick search brings me to a you tube video with some idiot washing records in the kitchen sink. I've captured a still of the video His life is so missing even a modicum of excitement that for him running a record under a kitchen tap at moderate flow constitutes "Blasting Out Those Records Grooves".

Don't show him any microscopic pics of a groove, there is all sorts of shit in there.

Fuck me, that guy must have OCD. And he’s just discovered that mould particles are in the air?? That bitch needs to be held under a scolding hot tap to blast the stupid out.

I know the answer to this already, but it bears repeating: what fool would actually buy vinyl reissues of old bop albums? This stuff has been *extremely* well served many times over on ridiculously affordable and readily available CDs, sounding as good as it is ever going to sound, with every damn alternate take and scrap included. Oh, wait. That is only of interest for people who actually intend to listen to the music, as opposed to yuppie scum who want some Blue Note jewelry to display, in which case the debris and scratches shouldn't be of any consequence anyway. And, no, it won't devalue your "investment" because these trinket reissues are and will always be utterly worthless. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend Alan Zweig's 2000 documentary, Vinyl. It is the best and most honest look at the record-collecting disease. Despite the glib description the youtube uploader put here, this is anything but a "wacky" film or subject. The genius of this film is how it gradually lulls the viewer into its heart of darkness: Finding this site was worth it for finding this doc. What an interesting film in a really odd navel-gazing world. Wouldn't be suprised if some of those folk are SHites.

Healter skealter Forum Resident
“Astonishingly, UM replied within 48 hours of my rant-mail, and will ship a replacement asap. They didn't comment about whether they'd re-pressed them, but at least it's a start, and a very quick one - since covid, it's usually taken at least 2 weeks to elicit a response from any of the companies I've complained to (Sony mainly, the useless b'stards).”
How many complaints has this guy been making over the last 7 or 8 months??

Jeebus, that would be enough for me to swear off vinyl.

Eamon is either super unlucky or a picky prick. forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/new-vinyl-qc-horrendous.1074624/I guess I'm a pushover as I don't find anywhere near a 50% issue for unacceptable flaws in my new VINYLS rekkids. Threads like this, though, make me pause whenever I think about trying to sell old unlistened-to records that I have over Discogs or Ebay or (channeling my inner SHite) the Hoofyville Marketplace. Yeah, maybe I'll get rid of those Van Morrison albums I inherited from my dad that I don't like, but inevitably I'll end up selling one to one of these persistent SHite pricks whose hobby is finding shit to complain about and I'd end up just giving them their 10 bucks back to make them and the complaining go away.

Before my last move a few years, my wife and I did a purge of stuff and one thing we did was combine our media (movies, books, cd/vinyl, etc...), and got rid of duplicates and stuff that we had in multiple formats. In the past, I've sold cds and dvds on Ebay and some of bidders/buyers were so picky, there was no way I was going to put vinyl on there and deal with even pickier people. A friend of mine sales comics on Ebay and he has a ton of stories about people wanting a partial refund because my friend graded something VG, but the buyer thinks it is actually VG - and now wants 1/4 of his money back.
Time is too short...
