In relation to a "scoop" on this fucking song:
"I wonder if someone has been reading this forum ;-)" Kim Olesen, Sunday at 4:27 AM#3918 The Beave, Boognish, J Alesait and 12 others like this
And this fuckwit chimes in:

I don't think that a release of a 'new' Beatles recording is a guaranteed Number One chart-topper. Probably be beaten by a remix of The Weak-end that girls can tik-tok to Not a chance it gets to number 1. The streaming figures that get songs into charts are mostly young people and the sad reality is most younger people are blasting some generic song rather than Beatles music. Who bought CD singles in the 90s anyway? It was all about albums by then. Most importantly, CD singles still exist today, especially for many top-selling artists. Some with multiple cover art/variations. I'll be very surprised if there is NOT a CD single for Now and Then, and one with some kind of b-sides or an alternate mix of the track as a bonus track. It might be the perfect time to put out Carnival of Light as a B side. 12" Dance Mix Instrumental (Edit) Whether its Carnival of Light, or some other unreleased Beatles outtake, I'd love something like that as a b-side. If Free as a Bird and Real Love are remixed for this hypothesized new comp, then yeah, I'd think some kind of archival track like Carnival of Light or Revolution (Take 20) would be perfect as a b-side to Now and Then. If FAAB and RL are not on the new comp, then I'd want those remixed and included on the Now and Then single, imho. As much as I would love to see The Beatles at the top of the singles chart it is highly unlikely. I can only see one way it could happen and that's by releasing different versions of the track with one version featuring a current hugely popular guest artist such as Harry Styles for example and I cannot see that happening. I am not opposed to virtually any method of promoting this song and getting it on the charts. Harry Styles would be in good creative company alongside Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, and Phil Spector if we were to be involved with a Beatles song. Of course this won't happen, and if it did this would be an alternate version, the pure Beatles version would still be available. I am into the idea of getting younger artists to immediately cover the song to give it an air of instant legacy. This would be an interesting form of promotion. I'd even like to see Sean, James, Dhani, and Zac perform the song on late night talk shows. Might seem tacky for a bit, but could really have an emotional impact if done well. They won't do this - but it would get people talking and drive awareness and streams. It would take an all hands on deck effort to make this a hit - but it could happen, with a ton of effort. What I can see happening is a Beatles 2023 mix and something like a Beatles Love mix - where Giles gets to play with the sounds and create something that can be used in the Vegas show which perhaps fits better on contemporary radio. Seems like the Las Vegas show is excellent cross promotion and something that should be utilized. In the coming days, the digital versions of Mojo and Uncut magazines for September will be released. I wonder if there will be anything about the new Beatles releases....

Maybe the upcoming release is a whole lp of unreleased songs. Mr. McCartney said that it will be the last Beatles record. He also said that he was working on it for the last few years. Surely he wouldn`t be making such a hupla over just one song. The label needs more than just one new track to make it a worthwhile promotion of a physical product! Many years to have been worked-on sounds like more than just one tune. Apple wouldn`t delay an SDE just to put-out a single. Hope this just isn`t a hollographic performance.

This could be a case of stating the obvious, but has anybody else noticed that the name “Now and Then” works as a title for a compilation album featuring the song Now and Then (“Now”) along with songs from the Beatles catalog (“Then”)?

If somebody fatally shot Macca, or maybe Ringo, a number one of Hey Jude or With a Little Help from my Friends might pump a few billion into the economy.

An even bigger boost would come from killing Dave Grohl while he's covering a Beatles song.

In this scenario, I would guess the "Now and Then" disc(s) would be a combination of best tracks released by the band post-1970? So that would mean anything from Hollywood Bowl, Live at BBC, Anthology, Let it Be Naked, Love, Rooftop Performance, or outtakes from any of the recent SDEs, would be fair game for Now and Then. Can the "best of" those releases be curated into a solid 20-track 2LP album that's a "bonus" in a box with Red & Blue? Sure those outtakes and demos and live tracks were recorded before 1970 (except for the Reunion tracks), but they were not released until after, so it still fits the timeline aspect of Red, Blue and...Green? Could be a catch-all for Apple's favorites from the post-breakup Beatles releases + Now and Then. If it's a new compilation that's including Now and Then, I would not be surprised if Christmas Time is Here Again made an appearance as well. It's a fun recording, captures their jovial and weird 1967 vibe, and it also tells a part of the Beatles story that doesn't get told much: Their relationship with their fan club and the annual Christmas records they always made. Revising my guess: • 1962-1966 - 2 LP / 2 'red' LP | 2023 Remaster • 1967-1970 - 2 LP / 2 'blue' LP | 2023 Remaster • 1962-1970 - 4 LP / 4 colored LP / Streaming (hi-rez + Atmos) | 2023 Remaster • Now and Then - 2 LP / 1 CD / Streaming (hi-rez + Atmos) | A compilation of fan favorites not included in the Red and Blue albums, including the last 3 Beatles songs, all remixed with a little help from MAL (except for the tracks already remixed in the past 6 years) This would be nice! I have to wonder though if there would be a mega box with all 6LPs together in addition to the three volumes being offered separately. If "Now and Then" is being considered as a compliment to Red and Blue, though, I would think it would not double-dip into master studio recordings from 62-70. Perhaps Now and Then is subtitled Now and Then: Live & Sessions...And the first LP is a culling of the 12 or so best previously released live tracks (BBC, Anthology and Hollywood Bowl, and perhaps Don't Let Me Down and Get Back from the Rooftop?), all remixed. And the second LP is a collection of the 12 or so best outtakes/then-unreleased songs (like Leave My Kitten Alone, Child of Nature, Not Guilty, Come and Get It, etc), and ending with the three reunion tracks.
