“You (and your TWENTY-TWO "Gorts") can moderate yourselves into a ripe old age, but you can't change history and you can't change facts. ”
Were there really 22 mods at that place? I can think of 4 or 5.

I can think of 4 or 5. They need the high Gort count to actively monitor those who get too close to pulling back the curtain / knocking down the house of cards.

56) Steve used a dollar bin stock cd to master the Audio Fidelity S&G Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme disc. Not the master tape. After deliberation with the jury, I'm afraid we are, unfortunately, going to have to disqualify number 56. While the stock Cee Dee was, in fact, the source for the AyEff remasterbation it was Kevin Gray, not Daddy, who was responsible for that clusterfuck. You may, of course, substitute your number 56 with an alternate Hooofman fuck up/lie. Lord knows there's enough of them.

Didn't I read some "explanation" saying that the CD was not actually the source, even though the 2 files zero each other out? Maybe it was some DAT or something?? Heh.

Is faces lighting up/being lit up a Hoffman-ism? Seems like Steve is always magically there when some grizzled entertainment industry veteran/curmudgeon has a wondrous remembrance or epiphany.

Didn't I read some "explanation" saying that the CD was not actually the source, even though the 2 files zero each other out? Maybe it was some DAT or something?? Heh. This was the (in)famous Jamie Tate train wreck. Evidently Tate ran both the stock CBS and the (then) new AF Cee Dee through his audio software and discovered the two stay in perfect sync. Which is impossible if both were analog sourced. The brouhaha continued on and on for all to see until, according to folklore, Tate was sued by Marsha. Supposedly Tate then settled out of court. Interestingly, but not surprising, the whole clusterfuck is still readily available to read in SHiTEville. The reasons are twofold. One, it wasn't Daddy's fuck up, it was Gray's. And two, Hoffman has zero problem throwing someone/anyone under the bus. In this case, he left his old partner out on the bridge with his dick swinging in the breeze.

Who can forget the Hoffman anecdote about the recording studio secretary being so in awe of meeting George Harrison that she blushed, stuttered and giggled in his sour-faced grizzled presence? Because that's how professional women who have been working in the music business for years react. "Y-y-you're G-G-G-George! W-wow!!" For your viewing pleasure (posted in 2006):

The best part is Hoofy says Petty is late, but if Lynne and Harrison came after him, are they not also late? And by an even wider margin?
I also don’t buy for a second the yelling/grumpy shit. Petty was supposedly a sweetheart and every interview I’ve heard with Lynne he’s very self deprecating and humble.

Everything points to the fact that this is, at best, a second-hand story and that he most certainly wasn’t present when it happened. And putting this in a thread about how much he misses George is the work of a true bullshitter. And anyone who wants to check exactly how much of the story is true, I’m sure Steve Hall would love to hear from you: www.futurediscsystems.com/index.html

Another Hoofy total fabrication. Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and George Harrison are going to bother attending a CD mastering session? That Wilburys album was released in 1988. Nobody gave a shit about CD mastering in 1988. Can't see Harrison giving two fucks about a CD masterbation. Also: 60 Talked to Ice-T for an hour about Nat 'King' Cole.

He knows how the celebs REALLY are. He had the lunch, pal, while you're just licking up the crumbs. He'd show you the lunch receipt but he mysteriously was always called away before he could pick up the check...
