"Sipuncula said: ↑ Negative: She Loves You: WTF? Much has been written on this one. Something is obviously wrong here. Second most important song in their catalog. I agree that something is "wrong" with the 2023 "She Loves You."
The graphic below, posted by "Track06" on the Beatles Beatleg Database Forum, compares the 2015 "She Loves You" remaster on 1+ to the 2023 "She Loves You" on 1962-1966.
The graphic suggests that the 2015 remaster is from a tape source, and the 2023 version appears to have been dubbed from a 45 RPM 7-inch single.
Look at the time code at the top. Between 0:10 and 1:02 of "She Loves You" there is a lot of cymbal spatter energy. The wavy horizontal lines in the 2023 version appear to have a frequency of 45 times per minute, consistent with a source deriving from a 45 RPM needle drop.
In contrast, the same horizontal lines on the 2015 remaster are flat, suggesting the 2015 version derives from a tape source."
Get a fucking life you cunts.

They could easily take the re-recorded She Loves You backing track, recorded in Paris, extract the vocals from a mint 45 and graft them onto the later recording. If Giles didn't think of that I should be doing his job. It bothers me that they didn't use the mono vocal track for Please Please Me. The stereo track has a vocal flub. So much for "Stereofying the monos". They'll make this same mistake with If I fell, trust me Anyone else noticed that the chopping guitar chords on the right during the Help! chorus have been all but muted? Thank GOD Andrew gave us a real review not a Kool-aid fest. Andrew confirmed what I hypothesized a week or so ago which was that some sounds were recorded offline (recorded off speakers) and fed back into the mix. I even pointed out the wonky distant sound of "Walrus" as an example. Checkmate! The Giles Martin remix philosophy seems to be to throw a dart at a dart board listing every individual element and whatever the dart lands on he exaggerates that element in the mix. It could be the bass drum or the snare or the high-hat or a single guitar lick or a single vocal track out of two vocal tracks.

The most boring remix in the world is the one that sounds so similar to the original that I wouldn't even know which is which. Some original mixes have actual problems and a remix is done to just make them sound the same but better. That was never the case for the Beatles mixes. Teasing out new elements, utilizing pieces in different ways, that's the whole goddamn intention. I haven't loved every new mix Giles has done (and 90 percent of my criticism would be on his work remixing the White album) but there have been more than enough tracks that have justified this whole endeavor.
FWIW, I can almost instantly recognize a new mix when it comes up on shuffle. And that's a good thing. It actually adds something new to the catalog.

Did Sean Magee make any digital edits to "She Loves You" exclusive to the 2019 single set? Or was it a straight all analog transfer? She Loves You was also digital.
Kevin Howlett: There are two instances where you did decide to cut from digital masters, “Love Me Do” and “She Loves You”. Why?
Sean Magee: Well we had to reconstruct simply because there isn’t the tape of that particular recording of the song. It was taken from a pair of seven inches. One was an original UK pressing, there was some distortion in the harmonica solo, so we had to add in a second from the pressing in Sweden and amalgamate the two. “She Loves You” has always had this sort of [inaudible]. At some point I think that maybe the tape got hurt, and someone has tacked it back together again because there’s a different level drop, and that level drop isn’t present on the original. And so instead, we digitized that one track and then do the edit so to fix it.
Kevin Howlett: I’ve heard another reissue that was done in 1976 and you hear that very clearly, the level drops, the EQ changes. But you are always listening to the original 1960s pressing to get it to sound…
Sean Magee: Exactly that. Those those were our point of reference. The whole point of the job was to have a box of the original as near to the original sixties pressings as possible.
Kevin Howlett: And the other digital transfers were obviously “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love” because they were made in the 1990s. So there is no analog tape for those. Do you think that Steve Hoffman would have done a good job of remastering these two tracks?
Sean Magee: No. No fucking way would we let him anywhere near“Free As A Bird” and “Real Love”, or for that matter ANY Beatles tapes, they are digital so I use the original tapes of those.
The Singles Collection (album)
I believe the [inaudible] bit is "heinous edit". Also, "definite level drop", not "different level drop". lukpac, Today at 11:34 AM#366

2010 remastered version 2014 mastered vinyl 2023 remixed editions How many times they want to sell then same compilation over and over again..?...ok..this time they have included one more disc..but I don't see the point of buying this again.... if you want to win new buyers...attract new fans...it is not enough to put a sticker on the cover saying..." EYYYY,, the version of Yellow Submarine now has the guitar solo on the right channel instead of the left channel as in the latest 2014 version...pay 79 Euros-Dollars again" Am I the only one who thinks "We Can Work it Out" has lost something - charm, maybe? - with this new mix?

For the fuck of it, I decided to check out the red album 2023 mixes. Just a few select tracks (and they sound great even on 8 dollar ear buds). I was scrolling through the comments and it was great comment after great comment. It seems the vast majority of people are really enjoying the remixes. It's a testament to how much of a fucking fart based cesspool Hoofy's is. Complaints and crying and bitching non-stop (and, of course, STEVe could do it better).
Maybe none of us have the ears, bucko.

Look, pal. Music is only fit for human consumption if it was remasterbated by Steve Hoffman. Maybe Barry Diament in a pinch. All others in the biz are incompetent, clueless hacks.

It absolutely has to sound the same way every time, otherwise they get the sads.

I listened to the red. The new remixes really do suck balls. Only This Boy and You Can't Do That sounded good to me. Some really bad mistakes and questionable decisions in there. MY OPINION!
