Now I am an Audiophile My hearing's temperamental Got high grade gear and rekkids too, - they're mainly ornamental.

Grant's response. Someone should tell him to ditch his audiophile gear and get an early 1970s radio.

Here's what I take from Grant's post:
Grant hates doing dishes, loves taking l-o-n-g showers, has no interest in conservation, eats a lot no matter if the food is spoiled or processed but hates it if the recipe changes, doesn't have many friends, wants to watch cartoons all day, pesters the mailman a lot, is a bit of a fascist, never heard of 60's protests, loves AM radio, wastes a lot of money, and got into a lot of trouble in school after the 4th grade.
He really is one fucking dream boat, I tell ya that.

God damn energy saving shit! Get those coal plants fired up! I've never had a problem with an energy saving fridge not making my food cold enough. The old model, on the other hand, would occasionally run a bit too strong and the milk would start to freeze. Of course, if you're spending a good part of the day, during cartoon commercial breaks, standing in front of it with the door open, wondering why that Coke don't taste like it used to, then yeah, it might not work properly.

Me likee this one better:
The Bad Old Days BY KENNETH REXROTH
The summer of nineteen eighteen I read The Jungle and The Research Magnificent. That fall My father died and my aunt Took me to Chicago to live. The first thing I did was to take A streetcar to the stockyards. In the winter afternoon, Gritty and fetid, I walked Through the filthy snow, through the Squalid streets, looking shyly Into the people’s faces, Those who were home in the daytime. Debauched and exhausted faces, Starved and looted brains, faces Like the faces in the senile And insane wards of charity Hospitals. Predatory Faces of little children. Then as the soiled twilight darkened, Under the green gas lamps, and the Sputtering purple arc lamps, The faces of the men coming Home from work, some still alive with The last pulse of hope or courage, Some sly and bitter, some smart and Silly, most of them already Broken and empty, no life, Only blinding tiredness, worse Than any tired animal. The sour smells of a thousand Suppers of fried potatoes and Fried cabbage bled into the street. I was giddy and sick, and out Of my misery I felt rising A terrible anger and out Of the anger, an absolute vow. Today the evil is clean And prosperous, but it is Everywhere, you don’t have to Take a streetcar to find it, And it is the same evil. And the misery, and the Anger, and the vow are the same.

The Bad Old Days
BY KENNETH REXROTH
The summer of nineteen eighteen
I read The Jungle and The
Research Magnificent. That fall
My father died and my aunt
Took me to Chicago to live.
The first thing I did was to take
A streetcar to the stockyards.
In the winter afternoon,
Gritty and fetid, I walked
Through the filthy snow, through the
Squalid streets, looking shyly
Into the people’s faces,
Those who were home in the daytime.
Debauched and exhausted faces,
Starved and looted brains, faces
Like the faces in the senile
And insane wards of charity
Hospitals. Predatory
Faces of little children.
Then as the soiled twilight darkened,
Under the green gas lamps, and the
Sputtering purple arc lamps,
The faces of the men coming
Home from work, some still alive with
The last pulse of hope or courage,
Some sly and bitter, some smart and
Silly, most of them already
Broken and empty, no life,
Only blinding tiredness, worse
Than any tired animal.
The sour smells of a thousand
Suppers of fried potatoes and
Fried cabbage bled into the street.
I was giddy and sick, and out
Of my misery I felt rising
A terrible anger and out
Of the anger, an absolute vow.
Today the evil is clean
And prosperous, but it is
Everywhere, you don’t have to
Take a streetcar to find it,
And it is the same evil.
And the misery, and the
Anger, and the vow are the same.
No No No No No No No No No
Remember
The past is always better Analogue is best Vinyl and Reel to Reel are best Old TV was better The Beach Boys and the Monkees are best New Music is Very Very Bad Valves are great Transistors are nasty 1960's Amazing 1970's Amazing (up to 1976) 1976-Present Day - No Good - Rubbish.
