forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/did-the-beatles-know-just-how-good-they-were.723714/Fuck me. Did the Beatles know that when they pee, they pee lemonade? Did the Beatles know that when they shit, they shit loaves of bread? Did the Beatles know that a lot of their male fans were willing to discard their sexual preferences for them? Did the Beatles know that they were the Alpha and Omega and everything in between? Did the Beatles fucking even know how to play a simple blues song?I know this thread will drone on for 30 pages or so, but the Beatard got his answer right in his own post from none other than John Lennon himself, who knew exactly the fuck what he was saying. Let's just put it this way, aside from what they put on records, there is no recorded proof that the Beatles were especially good. The normal places to look, concert recordings and studio outtakes, make them look like "just a band" indeed. Sometimes that Lennon was smarter than the Beatards are capable of grasping...

The story goes that Harrison got an idea of exactly how "good" the Beatles were once he spread his wings and jammed with a few other musicians. And those other musicians apparently recognized exactly how good a guitarist Harrison was -- guy probably thought when he quit the Beatles he'd be one of those ubiquitous players of the day like Clapton/Leon Russell/Winwood/Stills et al. Nobody ever called poor George though.

The band (basically Derek & the Dominos minus Duane) does its thing and gets into a lot of high energy jamming, but Harrison looks very stiff and remains virtually hidden the whole time, lurking back near the drum riser. I bet Clapton talked him into trying it, but he just wasn't cut out to play with the big boys.

During the tour, Delaney got George to really embrace slide guitar, which led ol Georgie Boy to develop the sound and style that COLA adores ever so much!

Ol' Duane Allman was probably thinking about giving up the slide guitar after he heard George owning it on My Sweet Lord.

oh man, did anyone capture any of that Quincy Jones-disses-The Beatles thread? I clicked to the next page of butthurt Beatards asking "Quincy who?" and it's all gone

Did the Beatles know that when they pee, they pee lemonade? If they peed in the shade, yes. Then they'd sip it.

Wonder how much the SHites would pay for a pint of Lennon's piss after the sessions for Mr. Moonlight?

Did the Beatles fucking even know how to play a simple blues song? They did, but the results were usually fairly dull. Speaking of John Lennon, I'm sure someone's said this before: "...the Beatles were all right, but their fans were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruin it for me."

It's not The Beatles or their music I tend to despise these days, it's their fans.
