That Alec Baldwin hatefest is some fucked-up shit.

GregM doesn't only care about gun violence when he can blame it on Alec Baldwin. He also cares when it directly affects his daughter.

There are sure a lot of SHites that think the only role of LGBTQ+ people in entertainment are as half-closeted stereotypes on game shows, ala Paul Lynde or Charles Nelson Reilly.

The gun did not basically "fall apart" while being examined. The F.B.I. did not examine the gun to determine if it could be fired. It was a real gun and it was positively known that it could be fired. What the F.B.I did was to determined if the gun could be accidentally discharged without pulling the trigger. Baldwin had stated that he did not have his finger on the trigger at the time the gun discharged. The F.B.I. determined that the gun could not be fired without physically pulling the trigger. The F.B.I. then subjected the gun to physical stress, probably striking the gun to determine if the gun would fire under extreme stress. It did not. Finally, as the stresses of this gun became to great, two internal parts of the gun broke. At this point, the gun was no longer operational.. The gun was stressed to the point of operational failure and still the gun could not be made to discharge without physically pulling the trigger. This proves that Alec Baldwin lied, yet no newspaper reported that he lied. And the charges against Baldwin were dropped. The facts of the case were apparent, even without the tests on the gun itself. Those only proved that you fire a gun by pulling a trigger. This we knew. Baldwin and others have lied. They committed crimes and so charges were brought. The reason for the delays and charges being dropped also seem apparent: power and influence sadly play a role in the legal system. It shouldn't puzzle you why Baldwin made public statements--well, let's call them what they were: lies. He was trying to shirk responsibility. As for what was going on in his mind, that's unknowable. But it seems to me actors call upon real emotions in themselves to convincingly play a role. And the only way to know a person's mind and understand/predict actions is to look at their behavior and past actions. Baldwin has a long history of anger and lashing out at attractive women. That much is clear if you listen to his recorded tirades against his ex and even his daughter. He is not averse to violence if you look how he attacked paparazzi, although that's a pretty forgivable offense. And it's true that he was instructed to point at the camera and fire the gun, but following directions doesn't absolve you of a crime. I'm not saying it was intentional and yes, it's a safe assumption that Alec's brain was overloaded when it happened, but it's also a safe assumption that it was too easy for him to be on a set with loose structure and rules, to be on the phone when instructions were given, to point a gun directly at an attractive blonde and to pull the trigger. That is what he did, and he should have to face the music. None of us has been in a similar situation unless we're a movie star who killed someone on set, but all of us have hurt someone unintenionally and learned to accept responsibility. This is part of growing up, I think. In this case the victim's family should not have to sit on the sidelines. They should be able to pick up the pieces of their lives and know that justice was served. Sadly, I don't think that will happen in this case.

At this point I just wish Alec Baldwin had been pointing the gun at GregM. What a whining little baby.

Gregory also believes he’s a mix of Don Draper and Tony Soprano. But only the good bits

I watched The Romanoffs, Weiner’s follow up show to Mad Men. He definitely didn’t need MeToo to become irrelevant.

Baldwin is the epitome of loudmouthed liberals for people such as GregM. His place was cemented well before the parody from Team America, and his lousy imitation of Donald Trump on SNL was also a factor. The accident is a godsend to them and is scrutinized about as much as the Zapruder footage for JFK, as any scenario that doesn't end with Baldwin getting jailed for life without parole for first degree murder is regarded as evidence of a biased judicial system. To most people, it was a tragic accident. Baldwin may have been careless, but the main cause appears that it was a low-budget project where the producers cut corners by hiring an incompetent but cheap armorer and failing to replace her after reports showed that she wasn't up to the task. But for the MAGA crowds who don't know their CSI from their QANON, there must be something else. The director of photography was probably preparing a documentary about child trafficking. Baldwin must have lied to the cops and the fact that he refused to turn his phone as soon as he was requested shows that there was some incriminating evidence about his affairs or some other stuff like that, etc. And they take every opportunity to tell others that Baldwin is a murderer.

Fortunate Son comes to mind, though I guess that wasn't so patriotic. It's more a form of anti-nepotism/elitism...funny story. I recently saw John Fogerty live. He got the rights back to all his Credence songs, which he credits to his wife's hard work and Saul Zaents dying. Anyway, he featured his son on lead guitar for Fortunate Son, let him have a lengthy solo. To me it made a mockery of the whole message of the song. And boy did his son show boat, which made it even more awkward. Plus he had several of his sons in his band and had their own band, Hardy Har, open the show. But I digress... Happy Fourth everyone!
