A Shite I don't fully understand - He claims to like to all things alternative & punk but has a poat count of nearly 35,000 and seems to contribute to any old stupid thread no matter how retarded or reactive. He even contributes on really pointless shit like "who gives a fuck if it's shipped?". Not very punk.
He's hard to work out, true. One minute a knowledgeable, smart Hüsker Dü fan, the next minute a Fox News-spouting cretin chortling over a misogynist quip. Perhaps he account-shares with a stupid roommate?
Maybe it's Greg Ginn. He's a bit mad nowadays (having smoked way too many bowls over the years), and it wouldn't surprise me if he was some of right-leaning conspiracy nut. He's probably on there so he can persuade Steve to remasterbate his 27-CD box of psy-trance, oompah-punk jams.
surfinjesus, while you are here, I will take you seriously enough to reply, since you've directed a couple of potshots my way.
I'll just point out that I am not a contrarian for pointing out hat Ram is a twerpy album for sissies, half of all classic rock is overhyped, overrated bullshit, and that mp3's are God's most generous gift to music ever. Ram really does blow chunks. If classic rock weren't overhyped, overrated bullshit we wouldn't even be talking about it now. mp3's have enabled me to explore music I never would have encountered otherwise, and they sure come in handy for long trips. Those are the realities of our world as I see them, and I believe in it as deeply as a faith. Nothing contrarian about it, it is all based on simple logic. And believe it or not, there are more of us than you will ever dream in your worst nightmares.
Politics? I've never discussed them here, there, or anywhere else besides a few potshots at Trump, the alt-right, and old fuddy duddy fake-conservative reactionary bullshitters. But if you really wanna know...
I'm not much of a libertarian politically, although I suppose I am a social libertarian more than anything else. I live how I want and you can live how you want as long as we don't fuck up others' lives. Fiscally, I am more like a Blue Dog Democrat than anything else I guess, although I would never associate with any group with such a sappy name as that. Maybe I am a Goldwater conservative with a weird FDR streak fiscally? Something like that. Nothing contrarian there either. I believe that sticking to a budget creates wealth, whether you are an individual or a nation, and that the government is responsible for the health and well being of all its citizens. Call me crazy, but that's how I think.
But I never talk about any of that shit, because talking about politics bores me to tears. I belong to neither party, although I do vote.
I think the more important question is: if I am a libertarian contrarian, wouldn't that make you an authoritarian sheeple? One is way cooler than the other, let's put it that way.
I'm also a loyal team player; I wouldn't take potshots at a fellow forumer, especially here, unless he swings at me first.
