It doesn’t help that he’s also deeply unlikable, like an unholy cross of Richard Nixon and Ted Cruz with the charisma slider set to zero.

Trump would have never tried any legal action against Disney. He would have made vague threats in his speeches, to get the JediJoneses in his crowds to boo them, he would have promised to pass a law (just after his healthcare plan or his treaty for Middle East). That would have served its purpose, to gain votes and to look like the guy who will put an end to this "woke madness". But he would have the senses not to engage directly with a major corporation that has an army of attorneys on a retainer worldwide to help them with copyright infringement, tax shelters and every potential legal issue. That's one thing Disney is notorious for. DeSantis assumed that he would be Trump, except that he got things done. But not getting shit done is part of the Trump DNA. If you make a move that you haven't 100% secured, it can backfire as it gives the opponent an opportunity to react. And Disney made DeSantis look weak and out of his league. Trump knows how to play with fire and not get burned. If he went up against Disney, in the manner you suggest, it would have looked amazing to the people he was trying to appeal to, and like just another stupid stunt to everyone else. DeSantis immediately overplayed and just looked like an idiot to everyone.
He's been unintentionally campaigning for Trump this whole time. You could just run a highlight reel of his past 2 years, then slap an endcard on saying "accept no substitute."

Meh. The result of this is just that most of the remaining RhondaTards will now go join the TrumpTards. But good riddance anyway.
