Just to re-cap yet again, people are disappointed about the new mix. So it doesn't even get to the point where the format, mastering and overall fidelity are relevant factors. If you are going to continue attacking people for complaining, a basic understanding of the difference between mixing and mastering would at least be a requirement. Please remember that forum rules state that your listening equipment must be listed in order to comment on sound quality. Your gear is not visible. Agreed! @silverbottomsavior please fill out your equipmemt profile as per forum rules! But its OK for Lukpac to make hundreds of sound comments on this thread with no profile listed? he makes quality contributions, he has an exemption. The quality of the "contributions" is unknown with no system profile listed. Maybe he listens to a 1984 boombox and a Crosley turntable. Without contributors like lukpak, I wouldn't be here. It's fine to praise the set with the usual hyperboles however when I'm shelling out $$$ for a set like this, then I am only to happy to read members invaluable insights into the mixing/mastering as much as I am to learn about the music and books. Says someone who also has no profile listed. Lots of sanctimonious self-importance in this thread. Moderator Note. Once more I've had to come in and clean this thread up, this time with members arguing about who has and has not filled out their quipment profiles. Our Forum Policies, Rules, and Terms of Service state that if commenting on sound quality then members should fill out their equipment profiles.... • To comment on or critique sound quality of recordings, or audio/video hardware and tweaks thereof, we require a person's equipment profile to be properly filled out and visible. In Addition to this our host has requested on multiple occasions that members take the time to fill out their equipment profiles.... forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/new-addition-to-the-sh-forum-rules-regarding-your-equipment-profile.224254/His opening post is below but please pay special attention to the final paragragraph, highlighted in blue, which gives the reason as to why we have this important rule... "Time to make this official: To those of you who are are posting as regards to sound quality of CDs, SACDs, DVDs, LPs, 45s, etc., this is for you. If you're going to advise someone to spend their money on something that you are recommending for sound quality, please fill out the part of your profile that states what you listen to music on. It's only fair and responsible to do so. Don't be intimidated. Not everyone has a groovy stereo system who hangs out here. Click on "User CP" up at the top of the page, and "Edit Profile". You can critique someone's work listening on a boom-box or your little computer speakers, that is fine, but we must be able to know it and take in to account that a complaint about "too much (or too little) bass" might need to be taken with a grain of salt. At any rate, don't be shy. I used the same simple system for years: It was (before I upgraded it in the middle 1990's): Pioneer 1010 receiver, AR3a speakers, Pioneer 12-D turntable with Shure V 15 cartridge and a Sansui CD player all put together with lamp cord and "Shack" type wire. I loved the system, and it is still going strong at Ex-DCC-er Marcia McGovern's house. So if you use computer speakers, what kind? If you just have earphones or earbuds, what kind? Help us out. If you do not wish to fill out your equipment profile, so be it but your critiques might be removed. Sorry for this but we asked nicely and some of you responded in kind which is appreciated. Others, not so good. Mastering engineers have careers and record companies have a lot riding on your reviews of product here. If you are going to be in charge of making or breaking one or the other, please at least do us the courtesy of filling out what gear you are listening on. It doesn't mean your gear has to be great, but your readers have a right to know your system when you submit a detailed analysis. We appreciate it."Bottom line if you do not wish to fill out your equipment profile then please do not comment on sound quality at all!

Once again, mikecaramba and caccawings get a plenary indulgence. It's not like the comment on sound quality. Hell, they barely contribute anything other than vague hints, incorrect info, and the latter with his dumbass "have a great weekend/holiday/month" etc poats.

It's funny when he vaguely hints about something and then says "I'm logging off for a few days, nothing's wrong just need a break" and then you scroll down and about an hour or so later there he is again. Guess the donut shop was closed and his mukbang was cancelled.

It's just what I complained about over there previously. They'll call you out for your lack of a profile over some trivial comment but let it slide if they like you, no matter how often you comment on sound.

If I were lukpac I'd just make up a nonsense 'golden ear' system like the ones those incurable assholes drool over.

Counter-argument: Someone who specializes in recordings by the Who and Zappa has such shit taste in music, no gear in the world is going to compensate for that.

Going with the Pro Linguist on this one. Luksack has always had a habit of coming across as a self-righteous twat.
