Haven't you bastards got trees to cut down or bears to kill? How far north do you think I am? Haven't you bastards got sand dunes to cut down or camels to kill?

“ Somehow Universal was able to keep Hackney Diamonds in the top 10 for 4 weeks. The Beatles have really struggled even though they would have got 75% more coverage than The Stones. I think the three week campaign (song, video, Red & Blue) alienated more fans than it attracted. People are a lot more cynical than they were in 1963.”
Does this moron actually believe the horseshit she/he/they post?

If Universal was really that committed, they only had to murder one more US president to turn the mourning crowds toward some peaceful and not cynical product, just like Capitol did 60 years ago.

It’s easy for even a dummy like me to figure out:
New (and really good) album with energetic songs by a band that’s still able to perform vs recycled albums of the same shit released 100 times with a moribund new grave digging song featuring 2 alive guys who can’t fucking sing.
Gee I wonder why?

I didn't hear a lick of Hackney Diamonds until amazon delivered the fuckin' record.

My dad was in 3rd grade in 1963, he remembers his 3rd grade teacher bursting into the gym during PE when President Kennedy was shot. So yeah, definitely.

Favorite Beatles solo album?None but RAM and All Things Must Pass were about as good as it was going to get. Anyone who says Flaming Pie or Chaos and Whatever in the Backyard is being contrary for the sake of being contrary. Those two have been critically acclaimed and loved since they came out. Saying London Town would be contrary. Yeah, but they're universally loved by guys who live in their mother's basement and wear tin foil hats. In 2017 I wrote here that RAM was universally regarded as the best Beatles solo album and was flamed. Now the consensus has come around to my thinking.
