SHiTE mode on: Allen was one of the first drummers I really paid attention to as a drummer. Can't say I have anywhere near everything, but some of his marathon performances are indelibly burned into my brain. I caught his group at a festival a couple years ago. I went more out of sentimental reasons and at 77 he and his crew burned the place down. One of the most pleasant surprises in my concert going life. SHiTE mode off.

I posted this in another thread here (check me out) that I bought Tony Allen’s latest album and I really like it. I wasn’t familiar with him before but they started playing one of the new tracks on 6Music and it really stood out. And yet somehow, Mikaela probably knows more about him than I do.

Is Chris saying that Vickie worked a porno video rental store? Maybe she rolled down the stairs and that’s why she is on disability now?

Has The Rialto Report ever mentioned "Vickie Does Vicksburg: Backdoor for the Siege"?

My old man can very much be a grim reaper of sorts. He suddenly takes interest in family members, in one case a cousin he hadn't seen in years, when they fall ill. And he's all too happy to say "this is it" in response to any diagnosis. Maybe it makes him feel alive? It's fucking creepy and annoying.
As for these dead celebs, their death is one of the least interesting things they've done, right up there with the birth. It's all the shit in between that is of any value and note. Mikaela might seriously need some help. At the very least, she needs a lot less screen time. This ain't healthy.

I am the last person to take this RIP stuff seriously. Hell, I started the fucking thread at the old site, but fuck me, Greenfield and now Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk? This is starting to get to me.
Sigh.

Claus, Brad and Mikaela all crowding round the death certificate to confirm the type of cancer. Wonder if he was a smoker?
Kraftwerk is one of those inscrutable bands where I couldn’t tell you exactly who did what, but the end result is truly magical. And since they’ve done fuck-all since Florian left, I’m guessing he was integral to their sound.
