Time will tell if maccawings stands the test of time

What I find quite humorous is the complete arrogance displayed by you insisting on a so called fact from an album that very little is known about and even less has been written about. Unlike you, I always keep my mind open to all possibilities and never say never until the finished product is delivered in front of me. Now while I may not know whether this person's contributions will be used until on the final product, I do know that he did work with Paul at least one week. And now time will tell whether those sessions provided any album track(s) and I think his use would raise a few eyebrows. The article was missed by all of us, under the radar somehow. Look hard enough and you can find it too.

And until the album is released, I do not count the possibility of additional producer(s) being used

Yeah, no matter what they do, sales of these sets will not increase substantially. I think it's more that they don't know the direction of the music industry itself. Think they are trying to balance Paul's self described love of the physical product to the stark realization that the world is changing to digital and streaming media. Just a matter of time that these things will all be digital IMO.

As much as I love those big boxes, this might not be so bad as it may quicken the pace of these releases taking the production of all of the components taking up so much time. For those that are not big fans of the books, digital would probably lower their efforts into even offering them or at least be as expansive. It also may drive down cost to consumer. I do love the photos/books but I'd give that up to quicken the pace. Digital or not.

I think one of the biggest stumbling blocks on Paul going away from physical sets is the Grammy nominations that these sets garner. Guess time will tell and this forum will be divided for sure. It will be interesting to see where they go from here!

Well, it is where the industry is going like it or not. I'm sure his MPL staff and record company staff are trying to push it that way. I wouldn't take a the download tracks as a sign of anything yet.

Although many would go kicking and screaming, download sets should drive down price and would eliminate worrying about disk or amount of disks to include.

Having said that, I would be highly disappointed in absolutely no physical set. I don't mind partial digital release but would prefer as much as the release be physical as possible. Time will tell with next set after FITD which way they are leaning

Been wondering about the 3 download Macca/McManus tracks myself. Wondering why they didn't include them on disk 1 or 2 but you might have hit it on the head about sound quality. time will tell I guess! Looking forward to finally hearing it

Well, this has been coming. CD sales are not good and while vinyl has hit a resurgence, CD's have not. But at this point, as much as I love the physical product, I think I'd give it up for quicker releases with maybe more audio content as with digital, no worries about number of disks. Time will tell how these sets will be affected

I think that this set will stay pat, absolutely no changes. But is may change for better or worse after that. Time will tell. At this point we don't even know if the archive collection continues at this point

The NYE TV rumor is in Japan. I tried to verify with a net search and no mention of it anywhere. So I would take it with a grain of salt, if it were advertised on tv there, you would think there would be mention of it somewhere. Guess time will tell

If it comes in the 2nd quarter as I have been saying, I think they could still release an archive(s) late 3rd quarter or even 4th quarter but time will tell. Fingers crossed for both so MPL, if you're listening in, we're ready for as many as you're willing to put out. Heck, put out all the archive sets at once and I will pre order every one of them

If for some reason the new album gets pushed to quarter 3 or 4 (no sign of that yet so don't panic) , hopefully they have an archive(s) as a contingency plan! Time will tell
