Vinyl may sound better but ultimately I'm a lazy cunt who doesn't want to have to get up every twenty minutes and flip the damn record over. The longass "MOFI is digitally sourced!" discussion was a thing of beauty, proving PT Barnum was spot on about the high birth rate of suckers. You’d love the 45 RPM Peter Gabriel releases. Every fucking 8-10 minutes.

Those zeros and ones capture it all and then some. But hey, it’s still fun to to drag a rock across plastic every once in a while! What about those folks who shoot their plastic with space-age lasers? Can’t they have fun too? I prefer the Jewish lasers on my vinyls.

I believe it can be fun, kind of like playing around with old tube gear can be fun. But what both have in common is that they ultimately color the sound. They “add things” to the music. Playing vinyl is still fun for me from a nostalgic perspective, plus some of my vinyl has never been reissued digitally, but mostly I’m transitioning out of it, because I’d rather listen to music, than plastic and gear. No more tubes either, I’m solid state as a motherfucker. (*Bonus Dilly points for gratuitous use of commas.) That MoFi scandal thread is funny as fuck and continues to run on, complete with its own gatekeepers. So much audiofool butthurt. Oooh, a digital vs. analog debate on stereo*******. As useless here as it is on SHF. Enjoy what you like. Makes no difference either way. The MoFi threads are gold. Lots of pride in ignorance, and zealotry galore. "Hey, I paid $125 for something I thought I loved, until I found out it wasn't PURE!"

Music is something you are supposed to be able to touch, to hold, to fondle and caress, to collect in 117 different color variations. It's not about the content, but about how it is delivered. Some of my favorite albums are ones I've never even heard. But the grooves are just perfect.

Guys this isn’t about digital versus analog. This is about lining up for a 7 inch single of Ringo Starr’s Love Me Do Live From VH Storytellers.

You are mistaking a statement of fact with a debate. It’s ok, I get confused sometimes too.

Also, this is the first time I have ever heard this album.”

Imagine audiophile cassette tape debates sounding something like “Have you heard the new CrO2 formula Maxell is using? So much warmth…”

You are mistaking a statement of fact with a debate. It’s ok, I get confused sometimes too. Not a fact. Merely a preference. Yours, btw. I don't really care what method was used to record music, or preserve it. We'd be nowhere without digital recording, obviously. You'd have to be an idiot to argue otherwise. It's just that the "scraping a piece of rock across plastic" argument is often used by some of the most perpetually butthurt, precious, cork-sniffing bastards over at SHF. They're just as bad as the AAA vinyl-only cork-sniffing bastards all over those MoFi threads, so offended at the evil digital step in their bloated, overpriced one-steps and UHQRs, or whatever the fuck.
