Notice how RSD has no presence of the 2 most popular genres R&B or Hip Hop or the normal cool people who listen to genres.

Because RSD is little more than the MAGA merch table. Just substitute Trump-branded colostomy bags with a shit-colored, limited edition 7" of a Mountain radio edit. Only a befuddled, senile old white fuckeroo is going to buy a Face Dances reissue. From my time in local indie stores I get the impression that the record buying demographic is mostly left leaning hipster types where it’s the online SFH record buyers that are more the MAGA racist boomer and Generation X demographic. Both nerdy whites who don’t listen to R&B or Hip Hop.

Here comes where I get roasted...
A few years ago, a record store where I lived was going out of business. I stopped in and saw something like 15 sealed cutout copies of Face Dances. Okay, I liked the Who and liked You Better, You Bet so fuggoff. I decided to pick one up and check it out just to give it a chance. Wow. What the fuck does "don't let go the coat" even mean? Good thing I only paid a couple bucks for it. This is why cocaine is bad, kids.

Even 16 year old me thought Bill Szymczyk was an odd choice to produce. But not sure anyone could have saved those songs.

When The Clash released their remasters, alongside the live album compilation From Here to Eternity, they commented on their final US tour, opening for The Who in 1982, who had just released It's Hard (future RSD 2022 release?). They became extremely disillusioned with the music industry by watching how the Who acted backstage at that point, totally uninterested by their performances or with each other, with John Entwistle spending all his free time playing video games on an Atari VCS. It was also around that time that Kenney Jones complained that Townshend kept his better material for his solo albums.

I just pretend that The Who by Numbers was the final Who record, just like I pretend that the Kinks also split up the same year. (Yeah, I do like the Kinks RCA era.) If you think of it that way, you completely sidestep the shame. My Kinks Klock stops in the early 80s.

Guarantee you this wasn’t Steve’s idea
“ The buying of Record Store Day titles and selling them for a profit goes against the original spirit of the classifieds, and the spirit of Record Store Day. Items sold in the Classifieds are supposed to be from your personal collection.
Moving forward, we are no longer permitting the immediate sale of RSD titles (LPs/CDs/cassettes/etc.) from the current calendar year.
This includes sealed and opened items, even if sold at cost. You will now only be permitted to post an RSD title six (6) months after its release. If something is released on the next RSD, July 17, 2021, you will only be allowed to put the item up for sale on the forum classifieds AFTER January 17, 2022.
Sellers will be permitted to sell RSD releases from previous years, with the following provision: Sellers are limited to selling ONE (1, uno, un, eins) copy of a title at any given time. NO exceptions.
Prospective buyers can still post a request for current RSD titles in the Want To Buy section of the classifieds, but only as a "WTB" listing, and not as "For Trade" (FT). Existing "For Sale" threads will stay open, but no new ones will be permitted.
Please note that we have noticed this practice for quite some time, and there isn't a specific instance that has contributed to this policy change. A lot of time was spent deliberating on what the best policy should be. That said, we felt that now would be a good time to start.
Also, please note: listings in violation of this policy will result in a minimum one year ban from the classifieds. We’re not kidding around. And, let’s not try to be sneaky: listing an RSD title and “forgetting” to mention it’s an RSD release will lead to that minimum one-year ban. Casually hinting or mentioning that you have extra copies of an RSD release outside of the classifieds will also lead to a minimum one year ban.”

I'm sure GiantLeech will be allowed to break this rule, but Steve may make him cough up a bit more in "donations" to run the site.
