To be honest, I can say that the scene raised my eyebrows, as something like ten minutes into the show, we get what's clearly implied to be anal sex, which is quite uncommon even in mature dramas. But, with Steve's phrasing, it looks like the issue is with miscgenation.

I’ve never watched the TV series, but the scene was in the first issue of the comic book series, where it definitely has questionable undertones with a white woman telling a black man to degrade her sexually. Comics: Not just for kids!

Was thinking today about why Steve’s hideous lunch stories don’t offend me as much as they should, and suddenly remembered that he actually pales in comparison to someone I knew a few years ago who droned on endlessly about her hanging out with a bunch of mid-tier indie bands which was far worse when these were not even interesting people to the average punter.
