There was also one particularly tone-deaf situation involving a noted indie musician who tried to take his own life in quite a public way, and her first reaction was to tweet about how she had been on a date with him once and still had his number. Don’t think even Steve’s done something so visibly awful.
And for all his stories he tells and faults he has I don’t think STeVe would do that, either. I can think of a few SHiTes who would do something that awful - DeVoe, DillyDipShit, GodSniffer, the asshole who “watched” the kids in his hotel - but not STeVe. He would talk about their date, where they ate, who they were seated between so he could lean back and introduce the two people who never met and overhear neat conversations and tell his date how she should be happy witnessing history, but never that he still had the phone number.

Of course, we have come to expect nothing less.
WOW. This is now my favorite version. And of course it is. It's Doc Watson.
I've seen genuine genius very few times in my life. But I saw it the night I saw Doc. And it went far beyond the brilliant performance--it was the control he had over everybody in the entire hall. I had never seen anything like it before. This was long ago, and I know now I will never see it again.
Thank you for posting this.
Ate lunch with Doc in 1976 at KLAC Radio. It was an honor.

It’s funny how all these stars “have lunch” with Steve. Once.
If think about anyone you’ve ever had lunch with it was either a friend, family or for business, but these aren’t music biz people. So how is Steve managing to make one-night stands into star-fucker lunches??
