Lon Van Eaton runs a studio in New Hope, PA these days. I take part in a group that gets together every couple months for Beatles singalongs with acoustic guitars, and was excited to see he signed up to take part in the last event, but than neither he or I were able to attend in the end. Hope our paths cross and we get to jam at some future gathering. Going to work up a cover of this song for a show I am playing in a few weeks with 2 other singers. Show consists of various artists playing Beatle and related covers. We are doing 6 tunes from Help soundtrack (50th anniversary of when they were recorded) and this tune. Lon Van Eaton is also on the bill, which is cool. Gonna ask him to sign my Apple records CD box. Had a 4.5 hour meeting reviewing and discussing my original material, and reached a handshake deal, some details still to be worked out and papered, to have an album of 12 of my original songs recorded, engineered and produced by Lon Van Eaton, a name I have been reading on liner notes since elementary school. I was not to cool to have him sign next to his picture on my Ringo's Rotogravure LP. My new producer Lon Van Eaton (signed a deal last night) suggested getting Ringo on my stuff. Maybe if he is too busy we could do this instead As to my personal plans, I clarified above that I out on hold plans to make my own recording setup in favor of signing a cd production deal with Lon Van Eaton to most efficiently record the wonderful singes and musicians I have committed to my project now without making them endure the frustration of watching me learn to do it myself. After learning all I can from that process I may try to equip my own studio in the future No significant money to date. But we are recording our first CD now with the awesome Lon Van Eaton producing, so we are hopeful of moving on to bigger and better things. So many great moments 4 band Springsteen tribute I organized and led a band at in May Adding an amazing female singer to my band in July and working up a repertoire of original and cover material for our first performance with her in August Performing Help and The Night Before with the Cave Dwellers backing me in front of a packed house at The Cavern on a Saturday night. Musical director, lead guitarist and one of 10 singers at a tribute to Janis Joplin in October Working on recording a CD of my original material with producer Lon Van Eaton over the last 2 months. Hard to believe that 11 months ago I was thinking of giving performing a rest. We have a strict "all non violent" policy in this group. And Lon Van Eaton producing, though no covers will make our release. Currently recording a CD with a producer who plays slide guitar, worked a bunch with George (not playing slide there), and has been described as George's guitar doppleganger. If we get some downtime after a session I may ask his opinion on which licks are George here. Recording a CD of my original material performed by my band The Beagles and produced by Lon Van Eaton. Reviewing first mixes Lon Van Eaton prepared for my forthcoming independent CD, and preparing notes for mix changes Took longer than anticipated. Just prepared detailed notes on things for my producer (Lon Van Eaton) to change from his first mixes and awaiting the remixes. Also working on cover photo and graphic design and may record a couple tracks with another producer. Sorry for the delays here but hope to get back at it soon . How to get attn for a video of band produced by Lon Van Eaton? If, for example, you were about to independently release a CD produced by Lon Van Eaton, and had prepared a video of one track you wanted to use to generate interest in the project - how would you seek to generate interest in it? 1 degree of separation: just approved the last of the mixes of a CD of my group The Beagles produced by his regular collaborator Lon Van Eaton

If the most you can get for a Lon Von Eaton reference when plugging your music is one or two likes on Steve Hoffman's forum, it's probably safe to say you should look at alternative tactics for promoting it to the rest of the world.

Nothing gay about this awesome album cover. I hope rfreeman can create his own version for his upcoming smash LP. I don't know if Lon is the top or the bottom. Attachments:

It appears Lon is --how can I put this?-- overstating his production credits... Here is the website for Lon Van Eaton and his production company, which appears to have been designed around 1987 or so: www.imagineabetterworld.com/Imagine_a_Better_World/Home.htmlIt would appear that Rfreeman is the only artist ever to be exclusively produced by Lon Van Eaton. Aside from the Apple album Harrison produced, the most cited project on the website was a fundraising album for the Boy Scouts that I sure have never heard of: I'm not even sure how much I believe that. Ronald Reagan introduced his album at the Macy's Day Parade?? Also, what does he mean 5 million Boy Scouts sold the album door-to-door? For one thing, there are only 2.4 million boy scouts nationwide now, and much fewer in the 1980's. Does he really mean the boy scouts sold 5 million copies of the album door-to-door? Then why aren't used record stores filled with them? Someone like, say, Bob Seger wishes he could have sold that many, and stores overflow with his old albums. And frankly, I have never heard of boy scouts selling records door-to-door anyway. The only version (and one of only two or three mentions on the internet) of this album I could find is here, in cassette: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201677235198?clk_rvr_id=1472867195363&rmvSB=trueDiscogs does have a track listing. According to Discogs, it is the only thing Lon Van Eaton has ever produced. Great lineup of songs though, it really helps me to see how it sold five million copies: www.discogs.com/Various-Give-A-Little-Love/release/6554842Both ebay and Discogs take the description straight from Lon's webpage word-for-word, as does any other site that mentions it (again, there are barely any). If this is the release Lon is hyping the most, it is only about 30+ years after the fact... Something tells me Rfreeman is gonna be disappointed if he expects Ringo to drum on his album. I don't think Lon has heard from him since the Boy Scout days at least...

Discogs sales history says people have paid up to $150 for that shit. He must have flogged the listing at SHTV as a Ringo super-rarity.

That's the whitest, most shambolic fucking garbage I have ever heard. It's quite entertaining when you watch the lil' prick on the right. His facial expressions and guitar gyrations are well juxtaposed against the inane music.

Also I like the "zoom and enhance" technique used to try to add some excitement to a one camera static shot.

I've seen rebar that isn't as stiff as these motherfuckers.
Rfreeman looks just like you would think. A chunky, dorky white guy.

Hopefully Father Time would join forces with the Beagles for a show ending supersession that would lead to the creation of a CSN&Y for the 21st century.
