I've never enjoyed music more than I have in the decade-plus since I switched to 100% FLAC files. Being free of all that idiotic clutter and having true portability is liberating.

Lot of complete idiots in that thread, as epitomised by the above Schvartze. No electricity needed or any process of conversion. He just looks at his rows of plastic and he gets music. He could feasibly take all his vinyl shit to a desert island and he'd be surrounded by, immersed in a symphony orchestra.

SHites love the "tactile feel" and the "ritual" of *physical media* because anything else they would try to touch would be calling a cop. They definitely have their rituals. A small sample of many posts on many threads about cleaning vinyl. There are loads equally fucking boring. Never heard of any of these posters in the Music forum. Thorensman Wally Swift Bill Hart

I gotta admit, I like teh vinyls. No fucking shame. But unlike the average shite though, I don't fetishize it to the point where I can't maintain even a minor chubby without smelling the mould of a fucking Aja or DSOTM "hot stamper".
So I've got that going for me.

I like records, too. But I like Spotify a lot and I have room in my life for both of them. One of the things that kills me is when someone like Thorensman says he uses cotton balls because it gets "deep in the grooves." A record is essentially flat. There's no "depth" to the grooves. They're microscopic. Anything will get to the bottom of the grooves, because the bottom of the groove is essentially the same as the top of the groove.

So what you're saying is, the cotton ball industry is going to suffer greatly due to the rise of spotify and the death of our beloved physical media?

Yeah, it's that special use they've found for the holes that comes with physical media. They prove they love formats more than music. Like ti-triodes in the "Am I the only guy w little to no interest in streaming high resolution", a thread that would be better trimmed by leaving out "high resolution" since in essence that's what they're saying: "I’ll stream when they pry my SACD’s from my cold dead hands.". Yeah, but if that scenario plays out, the streaming you'll be doing is emptying out your bladder...idiot.

Same here. And I have to confess: I can't tell if a particular record is sourced from analog or digital. I have never, ever, played a record and thought to myself "hey, this was sourced from a digital master".

I don't enjoy vinyls sourced from digital.
And if I do, and then find out later it's digitally sourced, I force myself to unlike it.

Everything you need to know about SHiTEs, from one record:
The first CD of Pet Sounds has long been derided over there for having a credit for Sonic Solutions No-Noise in the booklet. They also cleaned up some of the extraneous noises by patching in clean bits from the multitrack. Sounded fine to me, but then it was the first decent sounding Pet Sounds ever issued in the UK (all previous UK releases, including the hit singles, were from the Duophonic tape. The mono releases in the UK simply collapsed the channels, delay and all.)
So, first CD version bad. Got that? Okay.
EMI cut this tweaked digital remaster onto LP as part of the EMI100 series. Simply Vinyl used the same stampers for their reissue. These releases have been praised over there for their stunning clarity, which is remarkable considering the source CD is somehow unlistenable. One person even claimed it was a close second to the DCC LP.

I buy old and minty fresh vinyls, but if I’m not in the living room then I stream music. I also cannot tell the source used, if it’s digital or All Alluring Anal.

I have about 100 records, a few handfuls of surround sound SACDs, and several of my favorite CDs in my living room. Pretty much all my CDs have been in boxes in the basement for the last 4 years, as they have been completely ripped to FLAC. I have no use for them taking up real estate anymore, but they're there in case I ever suffer catastrophic data loss.
I don't get why SHits care so much about CDs this day in age. If you want the artwork, get the LP. If you want the sound quality, go with FLAC for convenience. There is nothing to mourn about the death of CDs. It's just nostalgia raised to the autistic power.
Nostalgia for what? I'm not quite sure. Perhaps in their pathetic youth, their happiest memories were listening to CDs to fill the emotional void they felt by their inability to get laid.
