Is AlmanacZinger as clever as he (repeatedly) thinks he is? THE BEATLES - New "GET BACK" film directed by Peter Jackson to be released in August, 2021 Di$ney? Aww, hell. :shake: Gene Clark: “No Other” Deluxe Reissue, Nov 8There's absolutely no reason to own a Blu-Ray player if you have a computer or a Smart TV. How about to play OOP releases that get "vaulted" by the likes of Di$ney or other studios that want to hold any given release hostage? Twice in this poat alone: Big Barrel Full of Monkees Thread (Part 4)So apparently Sony and Di$ney made a deal for The Mouse to stream Sony's movies between 2022-2026 (I think). I believe it is for movies made between those years. I don't think this affects The Monkees show in anyway currently, but I do see this as a test run for things to come. Sony (wisely) doesn't seem to want to cram the market with their own streaming service and would rather piggy-back off an existing one. But if successful it could mean they use Di$ney going forward. Personally I shudder to think of The Mouse owning any rights to The Monkees or Starsky and Hutch. This also must be a bit odd given that Warners, who have the rights to their music, has a competing video streaming service. And speaking of Warner, they've sadly decided to use Amazon as their distribution service for physical media rather than their own or Warner Archive site. Boo-urns! Yellow Submarine 3D - The 2009 Cancelled Remake/Reboot (footage found!)I wasn't aware of the YS remake, but if it has to be done, let the folks at Laika's stop-motion animation do it. Di$ney be damned! Whoa…three times (and counting) in this thread: The Monkees complete TV show on Blu-ray box set.I'm not sure Di$ney has the rights yet. I believe the new deal they made with Sony is just for theatrical releases made from 2022-2026 (and done almost only because Marvel is desperate to have the rights to Spiderman in their movies). For streaming? I'm not certain but I would suppose Sony. But that big deal they did with Di$ney doesn't cover IP such as The Monkees show (yet), as far as I know. Just 2022-2026 theatrical releases. But where is Sony currently streaming its non-Di$ney deal shows? (I legit don't know. I don't stream).
