You guys just put the finishing touches on dude's career obituary, brutal but necessary reading.

I meant "Family that plays together", of course.
And BTW, the next one in line "Clear" was initially assigned to Hoffy until it suddenly ended up with Gray. Seems like Hoof was finally finished at Sony as well.

A breakdown of projects toward the end of Audio Futility's lifespan, as I noted the obvious shift in assigned projects: Quincy Jones - The Dude / Kevin Gray Jeff Beck - Truth / DaddySpirit - Clear / Kevin Gray Scorpions - Best Of / DaddyEsquivel - Other Worlds Other Sounds / Kevin Gray Styx - Pieces Of Eight / Kevin Gray Asia - Alpha / Kevin Gray John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Paco De Lucia - PASSION GRACE & FIRE / Kevin Gray Weather Report - Heavy Weather / Kevin Gray Spirit - The Family That Plays Together / Daddy and Stephen MarshBlue Cheer - Vincebus Eruptum / Kevin Gray Spirit - Spirit / DaddyThe Byrds - Younger Than Yesterday / DaddyJohn Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band - Eddie & The Cruisers (OST) / Kevin Gray Will Ackerman - Returning: Pieces for Guitar 1970-2004 / Kevin Gray Leon Russell - Leon Russell / Kevin Gray Grand Funk - All The Girls In The World Beware / Kevin Gray Grand Funk - Shinin' On / Kevin Gray Joe Cocker - Joe Cocker / Kevin Gray Rage Against The Machine - Evil Empire / Daddy and Stephen MarshReturn to Forever - Musicmagic / Kevin Gray Weather Report / Tale Spinnin' / Kevin Gray The survey says: Out of the 22 last-gasp titles, Marsha had scheduled 16 for Kevin Gray. Four were assigned to STEVE. As the final degrading insult, two of them were given to both Daddy and Stephen Marsh. Any idea how long before the titles on this list was the Alice Cooper mess? How about the Peter, Paul, and Mary CD? And where did that Bread disc fit in? The list paints a fine picture of the final crash and burn of STeVE’s “career”, but I’d love to see how things had played out before getting to this point.

I tried to get the info on this from Discogs but lost interest when I saw the depressing list of titles he’s worked on, Three Stooges, wtf? He has a whopping total of 2 reviews, both from the same person commenting on his “fill out your profile” obsession www.discogs.com/artist/359096-Steve-Hoffman

If your line of work is remasturbating oldie moldies licensed from corporate labels, and all corporate labels bar one have an actual, instituted policy of having any association with you, well, that makes things a bit difficult, doesn't it? At least he has his shiny watch collection to keep him occupied for his few remaining days.
I don't really understand why he needs any watch at all, much less a bunch of expensive ones. He has nowhere to go and nothing to do all day. If he needs to be reminded when the "Dennis the Menace" reruns are about to start on Antenna TV, can't Karla handle it? Great sleuthing on the Hoffman corporate blacklist, BTW.

Oh, I thought you were mentioning it because it had some kinda fuck up or secret STeVE remix. Quite possibly. It's just that nobody yet has had the gall to research this.

Not it!

Sourdough completely trounced the rest by a country mile. Marble Rye was close though, and is criminally under rated. Whole wheat has it charms, but is not really my cup of tea. YMMV. I liked the others okay.

As much as we'd like to see the dots connected between the Bob Ezrin encounter and Marsha putting Daddy out to pasture, I'm afraid it doesn't add up. Ezrin and your Host had their little tête-à-tête in November 2013. I originally poated that list here in December of 2017. At that point most of the titles on it had already been released, the notable exceptions being the Clear Spirit album and Q's the Dude. Which, unfortunately, means we're missing something.
