One more thing most, if not all, STeVE's "anecdotes" have in common is the phrase "at any rate" (which he is used to saying when hoping for work...i.e. "I'll remasturbate that Gary U.S. Bonds hits CD for you at any rate. Five bucks and lunch a good rate?"). This generally comes after he has given us his usual "I was there" spiel, but is wrapping up his bullshit story. Example: "I was at the last supper, were YOU? It was Thursday, April 19th, 33 AD. I was working on The Apostles Greatest Hits CD and just happened into "Moses on the Water", great little fish joint owned by Saints John and Paul. I walked in and Jesus saw me and waved me over. Neat! I sat between Peter and Paul. The fish sandwich there was amazing. Jesus asked me how I managed to bring out the midrange on the chanting of the Apostles first single. I guess I just have the ears, bucko. Then they brought some butter out and Luke said 'just like the midrange in your remasturbates, STeVE!' Heh. Jesus treated me to a glass of the finest wine in all Nazarene, but the waiter said they were out. Suddenly I look down and there's wine in my glass...Jesus WINKS at me and laughs. Neat! At any rate, turns out I was the LAST person to see Jesus alive. He told me he was having some problems with his contract, but I didn't think anything BAD would happen to him. Sometimes I can still see him giving me that wink. I dream about him often. Yikes!" Read any one of his diatribes and you'll see exactly what I mean. lol.

Yes, "at the office", otherwise known as Blonstein's car.

"Ha, you pay big money for the disks I mastered? We had so many of them at the office that we started using them as paperweights, or sticking one under a wobbly chair." It's like he just needs to fucking be better at everything to the point where he unintentionally puts himself down. Or else it's a cutesy attempt at humility? I can't quite suss it out. But he pulled a similar gag when folks were asking about the Leon Russell remix album he did, that was at the time hard to find online and expensive when a copy did come up.
Lukpac
STeVE
That was back in 2002. The album was still hard to find (and pricey when it did turn up) 10 years later when I was looking for it. And then suddenly a good handful of copies turned up online and for reasonable prices. Someone musta found the dumpster.

Son of a bitch...I made up that Gary U.S. Bonds CD as a joke, thinking of the most obscure, useless CD comp that could possibly be made. I click on that Discogs link of STEVE's, and what is the first CD listed? Fucking Gary U.S. Bonds in 1984.
What's stranger, fact or fiction?...
...of course, with STEVE, they're one in the same.

I love this one, even though it sounds like it was recorded and/or mixed by the EMI janitor. Yes, STeVE, but that janitor was gainfully employed by EMI – the company that THE BEATLES recorded for. You know, the company that never hired you – the corporation that never let you near enough to even smell the precious Beatles master tapes (let alone hold one in your thieving hands). What’s more, that janitor might have even had the chance to clean a stray drop of Lennon’s piss off the men’s room urinal. Or perhaps he once wiped some of the aftermath of George’s chicken vindaloo dinner from one of the EMI toilet seats. You know – tasks that you would have eagerly done with your own tongue. So, go ahead, STeVE, disparage every recording/mastering engineer (or janitor) to have ever worked for EMI back in the day. Just remember – they actually got to exist in the same space your idols once did.

I think Freeman could as almost play that guitar part if you slow it down. Neat!

I’d love to see Steve turn up at the Apple/Universal offices in London asking to see the master tapes etc and see what type of response he’d get. Probably the response would be: “Steve who? Get the fuck out of here”.

Get the fuck out of here”. Having seen that footage of Joey Kramer being denied entry into the Aerosmith rehearsals recently, I know exactly what it would look like, just with more pointing and laughing.

While security carries him out, you'd hear "macca" "couch" and "......ago".

In that thread of old content from the old place, a few people seemed to like the Mystery Date gif I made years ago. Well, I appreciated the kind words, so I figured I’d try to come up with a sequel. Presenting yet another classic Milton Bradley game from the 1960s: Update: After the original Operation gif had been up for a few days, I realized the game should have been given a more STeVE-centric name.
