STeVe has to ask the gorfs about threads and then changes the title. Yet I thought STeVE says he has no power and has to put things to the gorfs when asked in other threads? According to him and previous statements I didn’t think STeVE could do anything in his forum?
Moderators, these hate threads, should they be allowed? I really don't know. Anyone else, yes or no?
Hate as a term has its meaning. IMO the thread title should be changed.
Well, the Internet brings out the worst in people. Give me something else..
That is the best a middle aged slightly hippie type from commie Denmark can do LOL.
My point is what do such threads really contribute? They are mostly filled with people arguing “i hate X artisi” and some replying “but i love X”. But it brings no real info about music/sound to the table. And what when the heated arguments finally fade? Some members will bring their newly found predispositions against other members into other threads and derail them.
The problem with these threads is that it never takes more than a page before it turns into people just listing bands they hate, when that was never the intention of the OP.
We can't win either way, Steve. If we let them go, it's a moderating nightmare and we get flooded with reports. If we close them, we get accused of heavy-handed censorship. I'm open to suggestions. I usually lean towards allowing them and let the other posters self-moderate. If anyone is offended they can leave the thread.
Please just change the thread title. No one is getting overly political. No one is name calling. This thread seems pretty civil to me.

No, dipshit. No one gives a fuck if you close one of the hundreds of inane threads you have running over there. The censorship is blatant when someone attempts to openly discuss and/or critique some aspect of your Master's "work" or his foul, passive-aggressive behavior.

"I must say though, artists like Kurt or Thelonious Monk who people think have something to say of the highest importance but are really just suicidal or insane sort of freak me out. Why? Well, everyone thought Monk was really "out there" but they followed his lead and jazz changed. Turns out he really was insane and was finally locked up. Does that mean that the jazzers were wrong to follow him? No, but still." - STeVE
