I've finally listened to Cecilia Ann by The Surftones on YouTube. Now I know why Steve's drums are in such minty condition.

STeVe’s life nowadays: CLOSING old threads… Which one of those things is the Kensei Audio Transmogrifier that STEEV used to master his amazing Doors and Cars disks?

It's weird, but for whatever it's worth, someone quoted his poat and linked it in another thread. So it's not like he randomly went looking for it.
I'm glad that STEVE can offer the detailed insight that "SOME type of change" must have happened. Excellent contribution. The Star Wars story is the cherry on top. STEVE WAS THERE IN 1977. He saw the old girl when she was still new.

On the second day! Wow, must have been something because no one else in the world had that opportunity - unless Oteri counts?

Who the hell remembers shit like whatever goddamn movie print a theater is showing?
Seriously. Have you ever decided to pop down to the local Showcase Cinema to watch a film and actually notice the fucking print they have?
And even if you – by some small miracle – could determine the theater was running the same print, would you actually retain the memory of such an insignificant observation for more than 45 years?
(My god, Hoffman is such an insufferable prick. The part I hate the most is that people will actually believe him.)

Susan, only if it's a Fathom revival of something like Rear Window, which I know will be digital. I was pleasantly surprised how good Rear Window and Jaws both looked at these events. Conversely, I saw The Trouble With Harry on rich creamy film at Louisville Palace once and the aspect ratio was so fucked up even non-nerds were commenting on it. The only cool thing that night was seeing the copious amounts of houseflies Hitch left in the film!

Conversely, I saw The Trouble With Harry on rich creamy film at Louisville Palace once and the aspect ratio was so fucked up even non-nerds were commenting on it. The only cool thing that night was seeing the copious amounts of houseflies Hitch left in the film! Sure, and if there was a splice or a huge scratch on a film print, you might notice it. My point is, unless it’s blatant (and a fucked up aspect ratio is), you probably won’t catch it. And, even if you do notice an imperfection, you might chuckle to yourself for a second and get back to watching the movie. You wouldn’t remember such a minor thing for more than 45 years. Compare: STeVE speak: In the summer of 1976, we all piled into the back of dad’s Country Squire station wagon and went to the downtown Mickie-D’s for some burgers and shakes. While discussing the complexities of Wings’ “Let ‘Em In” a small culex tarsalis landed on my arm! I put down my triple-thick strawberry milkshake and with a deft move, made sure that culex tarsalis would bother nobody else. Normal people: (nothing, as normal people don’t remember getting fucking mosquito bites!)
