I didn’t mind Jimmy Fallon on SNL, but, I really hate his talk show shtick. (Seriously, what does he bring to the table? It’s certainly not any sort of interviewing skill.)

I was listening to Whitney Cummings on a podcast and she made a very good point about how these talk shows now depend on the guests, not the other way around anymore. She was talking about how after doing a show, she was given media to share and promote.
It's very true. Once upon a time, getting on those shows could be a big break. Now? People are probably picking and choosing when to watch the late nights depending on the guest. Or, let's be totally honest, looking up the clips and performances on youtube. Jimmy Kimble is the only one that comes close to living up to the classics.

I don’t find Jimmy Fallon remotely funny or entertaining and it’s excrutiating when he takes himself seriously as a singer immitating someone else. I thought maybe it was a cultural thing and Americans find him hilarious but then I think of shows like Frasier, Always Sunny, Arrested Development and Curb and realise nope, it’s not “American humour” it’s just dross for the masses.
Jimmy Kimble though is genuinely entertaining and I used to like Conan O’Brien (and especially Triumph) but haven’t seen his show in about 20 years so no idea if he’s funny anymore. I hope so.

Pierre Lescure was for years the head of Canal +, a French premium network, which was extremely successful and influential in the nineties, before its fortunes changed, as there was the failed buyout by Vivendi (its parent company, which originally did water treatment) of Universal Studios, then Universal Music.
These days, the guy has a hand in the Cannes film festival and in a daily panel talk show on public TV about arts and entertainment.
And he’s spoken about the worst guess they’ve ever had on the talk show in four or five years, a guy who’d only make terse, monosyllabic answers, without ever looking at the hosts and wearing a wool hat while it wasn’t winter at all. They all thought that the guy was extremely uncomfortable in interviews and in public, probably because of psychological issues caused by his origins.
It was, you guessed it, James McCartney.
(The glasses of wine are some gimmick for the show, not a French TV tradition)

I misread that and thought you were describing some of my favourite TV shows as dross and was about to get indignant.

Well, if it's Arrested Development season 5... Yeah, what happened? I still watched it and found something to laugh at in each episode but it really wasn’t good, and the weird flashbacks to their childhood. It’s a shame because when it’s good, it’s fucking hilarious.

Those complete and utterly retarded fuckwits have a very high opinion of themselves and that fucking knobhead forum.... Josip said: ↑ So, basically, these McCartney teasers are aimed exclusively for SH forum members...? Pretty much. Probably due to the fact that so many of us buy every possible variation of the album a dozen times over accounting for about half of Paul's total sales! Dr. Pepper, Today at 3:06 AM #1776

A Coming Up remix should be top of the list.

Yeah, that episode where they were "flying in" Ron Howard who was obviously nowhere near the set was the last one we watched here. It's a real shame, they should have never have revived the series. Alan was in love with the first few seasons and begged me to watch it with him. As usual, he was correct, as he was with Bojack which I hated at first.
