From Wildest cat's Zeppelin IV thread DK Pete: John Buchanan: Fuckin' audiophiles. It's Black Dog. It sounds like it sounds. Shut the fuck up. The SHites constantly complain about the low end of that album. The remaster, the original vinyl etc. Maybe just maybe that what the master tape sounds like idiots. They wish Steve could remaster that album, he could find some bass there. Like there is secret dark passages in the tape that Steve has access to that others do not. All he would do is just boost the bass knob and shave all the top off. Yeah, I think what gets me is the idea that there's a correct way for it to sound. Maybe it sounds the way Page wanted it to sound. Maybe spiky upper treble is an artistic choice! Or maybe not. But either way, countless millions have been enjoying it unbalanced cymbals and all for like half a century now..so stfu, John Buchanan, just stfu.

I think you guys know the story of that album and how it was recorded here and attempted to be mixed there and brought over here to correct the mix etc. It’s a shit show. But does it take away from the music? No. Despite me never wanting to hear it again it’s a classic.

I could probably count on one hand the number of albums where the mix/mastering is a "concern" for me.

I was listening to this album of songs recorded on cellphones in West Africa when someone started a thread stating that mastering was the most important thing in music, more so than the songwriting and musicianship, and I realized I had no ability to connect with SHiTes: sahelsounds.bandcamp.com/album/music-from-saharan-cellphones

And certain albums where I have a clear preference for the mono or stereo or certain remix. But at the same time, I have a shit ton of bootlegs and leaked songs too, stuff that is objectively flawed. And yet I somehow enjoy that stuff too. Guess I'm not resolving enough.

Excellent find!

'self selected feminist male' starts a thread 'for ladies only'. Quiet American Reminds me of a creepy craigslist ad advertising a room to rent 'for ladies only'. link

It’s always nice to see a man start a thread for women only, they were probably too shy to do it themselves or their husbands aren’t around to help them navigate the website.

Of the 8 messages (the OP and 7 responses) 5 are from people whose profile says “male”.
Jerry As opposed to the offensive terms he apparently doesn’t give a shit about when talking about Yoko or Stevie Nicks, or Wildest Cat calling women “honey”.
Vince shows why he’s a valuable contributor

Good, let the girls have their fun. Don't need them mucking about in my Macca threads.

Wait until Mikaela rocks up in that thread to declare every artist these ladies love will all one day die.
