In response to a fairly clear post about how shitty the thread is, Rasputin outs himself as a hater of women. Which is ironic.
“Read your post where you (among a few other sjws) derailed it & also tangled yourself very quickly into pc talk with absolutely no substance.”

Just want to ask, who the fuck are these freaks on SHTV who check out CDs from their library? And they claim they’re recent releases. Where the fuck do you find a library in the first place and secondly, one with CDs??

Wow, the OP is one A1 fucking bellend. Strat Mangler seems like a voice of reason in comparison. Must be a law that everyone called Joshua is an insufferable prick.

Where the fuck do you find a library in the first place and secondly, one with CDs?? When run right, libraries are amazing resources. My local library is well-funded and has a lot of users, so can afford to stay interesting. It's less than the price of a snack to borrow any CD for a week - I've currently got a 6CD Kinks box on loan. Most of it is not to my tastes, but I finally got to hear Muswell Hillbillies and thought that was a decent album.

My local library is also an excellent resource and is a member of a state wide consortium. If my local library doesn’t have a certain CD or movie - and the selection is already huge - and another library in state has it you can request to have it sent to the local library. This has pretty much replaced the interlibrary loan. What I have always found funny is the reaction to SHiTEs when someone says a friend burned a ceedee for them and they go ape shit over the fact an artist lost revenue from that. Yet many have no problems with borrowing from a library and copying the albums that way. I mean, doesn’t that pretty much equal the same thing?

(a good chunk of what I buy now that isn't a new release is used.)

Where the fuck do you find a library in the first place and secondly, one with CDs?? My local library has tens of thousands of CDs. I was putting it to its test and finding Jandek, Merzbow, obscure electronic music, punk, indie, etc. and it was shocking how much they had.

I just want to add to the library conversation, I haven't bought a CD in more than 2 years because I just find them at the library. Coltrane and all those folk artists in the Harry Smith anthology are dead anyway.
I live in a rural town, but our state has good interlibrary loan programs, though there are some CDs that they don't loan out.

Fuck me, it seems like libraries are the new singles bar by the sounds of it, are all of you in the US? I can’t imagine a library in Scunthorpe or Grimsby has this kind of selection.

I have borrowed ceedees that may be out of print or I just want a couple of songs and ripped them and burned them to a disc. In my eyes I see no difference in doing that from a library or a friend’s ceedee, but I think it’s funny that the SHiTEs have an issue with one but not the other. I also have 4 ceedee/deeveedee folders of burnt movies that I borrowed and ripped and saved. I watch almost zero of them but when I get in a mood to watch I can and will. Plus they take up almost zero shelf space so that’s another plus, too.
